*The "padhacking" thread*

Yes, but you should consider a dualshock over the older ones for better converter compatibility.

Don’t worry about the voltage unless you’re wiring up a P360 or doing a multi-pcb setup.

You should probably read this too.

Is there any way to tell the common from the multiple ground Dreampad controllers before you buy it?

The USB standard automatically has 5v on the red and black wire (within the USB cord), so you can use it as a ghetto powers supply for lots of things by cutting up a USB cord and using the red and black wires for up to five volts.

Thanks, a lot, I’ll probably have more questions if you don’t mind.

I already got my soldering iron and I unsoldered the buttons on my t5 stick.

awesome… will those extenders work?

Do you mean USB extension cables? Sure. But at least on my old laptop I chopped up a USB cable and used as a 5 volt supply for small electrical projects, if you shorted the wires the computer would instantly reboot, so be careful.

edit: I’m not sure what you have in mind joystick wise, I’m just saying you can get 5v from any USB connection (I assume you want a clean 5v for P360 or something?)

Double post =(

Sorry!

Yeah… here is a pic… i started with a 5 foot cable and chopped the end off… and added about a foot

First post here

I have a translucent blue Playstation dualshock controller and need to questions asked. What parts do I keep? and What do portions of the PCB do I solder to?

Here is a picture of the controller:

You do a solderless hack to that PCB. No soldering involved. There is a lot of info throughout the thread pertaining to that PCB.

Thanks bro! Took some time to find the actual tutorial but I eventually did.

Great to hear. It’s a cakewalk.

Ok i have a question in reagards to the p360… well i had problems installing it at first but i got the wiring taken care of… now wats going on is this thing is not hitting quarter circles at all… nor can i hit corners… i know it takes a while to break in but dam this shit is too much…

now my question is: Did I use the right metal sleeve to put it into my mas??? I used the .625" (5/8") sleeve which is the long one the happ 360 comes wif… it also came with a .156" (5/32")
And i decided not to use it… now could this be why i a m having all these corner problems because i used the wrong sleeve for the mas?

Your actuator is backwards.

Take off the e-clip, flip the actuator, and put it back together. Have fun since the 360 is a STIFF mofo.

nah its on properly the smaller side is facing e ring

I believe the newer P360s have a smaller range for detecting corners. Something like 15 degrees? I don’t really remember. I think Kowal has the info in that crazy chart of his =P

yeah i hollered at him he told me basically i need to shave down the actuator… but i just wanted to know if there was anything else i could do before attempting to do that u feel me?

how do you solder an original psx pad before they had dualshocks those little ass ones that came with the original playstation at launch.

There’s a few pictures in this thread somewhere.

Ok today i plan on sanding/filing down my actuator for my p360 cause the corners are pissing me off and based on wat kowal explained it seems as though this will give me some peace(until i start getting the cracking noises lol)

I went to a few hardware stores to see if i could get someone to do it for me cause im not familiar wif this type of shit… but it seems as if no one can do it for me so i gotta do it myself…

Based on wat Kowal said i need to get the diameter of the actuator from 14,5mm to 13,7mm…

like i said im not too familiar wif this stuff so a lil bit of clarification on wat i need to do would be nice… am i trying to make it shorter or thinner? :shake:
