True, but then again, i’ve only played arcade as law, so i’m really not the best to talk about Law with, if you need help with Hugo/Kazuya/Zangief/Ibuki/ then I’m your man.
Try the longcut input for the mist step: :f::hcf: Doing it more as a half circle will help the game see your Neutral input.
Also, learn some of the Capcom cast. Put some work into learning Ryu. He’s one of the derp easiest characters to use, teaches the basics of the game, and gives you a feel for how the engine plays. Xiaoyu is a lot more difficult.
And remember, this game is a lot more than just landing a big combo. There’s millions of things you have to soak in and learn to be an effective fighter. Just give it time. It will take a lot of practice to get a win, but don’t give up.
As for the controller, that’s up to you. There were a lot of pad players on SFIV, and they managed the game just fine.
I’ve asked this question since launch and i still haven’t gotten a clear answer. But does Capcom select random replays for the “New Replays” channel, because i still know know how to upload my replays.
Whats the deal with the Gems that people got with Special Edition? Are those coming out for DLC with this lil patch thats coming out tomorrow?
If it has one could someone please tell me how to find it cause i can’t. Assuming it doesn’t have one how do you guys practice counter attacking and retaliation attacks? I can go into training mode and play the computer and block a move then attack but with no recording mode it’s impossible for me to no if the computer bothered to block after he did his move and thus it’s impossible for me know if my retaliation move is actually guaranteed.
Hit start, scroll to Dummy, change mode to Record, hit start and unpause. Now you can record whatever you want. I’m not sure how much it can record, but I’ve let the recording dummy go up for about at least 60 seconds which is enough for me.
I need help on the Jin match up. He seems really great. Either its him or I just don’t get the game. Anyways, he seems to be able to do alot jab pressure strings into upper cut. Everytime I predict the jab string’s end, I try to jump but he ends up jumping and hitting me with jumping roundhouse. It seems like he can keep jabbing and crossing up. Also, when I try to do some pressure strings it seems like he is able to do mental alertness into medium or heavy punch. The guy I was playing seemed to be able to do this without any bad consequences. 100% of the time he was able to do it without being punished. He was doing it between ryu’s medium punch and medium kick string. It seems like you can just throw it out there. Also mental alertness into short kick doesn’t seem punishable so jumping in is not much of an option. His zoning game is also annoying. Can you guys help?
Jin’s normals are really good. S. and cr. LP have frame advantage of +4, and while his j. HK isn’t particularly fast, it can hit as a maybe very deep crossup. However, I don’t believe that jab string into SS Thrusting Uppercut is actually safe. It takes at least 9 frames of the special step to pass before the attack will commence, and I think Thrusting uppercut has 8 frames startup. If he’s trying to do it from a regular LP attack I believe there’s a window to uppercut him.
If a Jin is managing to MA Swaying Willow by using it within the 2 frame gap of your cr. MP, cr. MK, the dude has seriously trained to use it.
Jin’s MA Leaping Side Kick, while a great anti air despite its startup requirements, cannot hit grounded opponents at all. So try to dash in some times after a few failed jumps or even neutral jumps to bait him.
Moving to right forum…
Merging with the Q&A thread.
How are we suppose to know the frames of the “so called” dlc characters? Is their gonna be another strategy guide or a pdf file for those frames?
What’s the best way to deal with Ken tatsu spam? It’s really bugging me at this point with Gief and Rufus.
When are we gonna have frame data?
Dunno about Rufus, but I’m fairly certain Zangief’s Lariat beats out the aerial Hurricane kick.
It’s the only thing that I’ve met that I can’t beat reliably with lariat. I’m not sure if it’s the different strength tatsus, the timing or the height but it seems really hard to beat consistently.
Oh the days when Zangief had an anti air throw.
Julia is a good mid range character who relies a lot on her brilliant crouch short and crouch forwards. She works best at mid-range with swift step feints, wind roll mixups, and has a good crossup j.mk to boot.
How do you get the achievement described as not getting hit 100 times in a match? I’ve faced a few AFK players online recently and i still haven’t unlocked it…O_0
Those are called a Perfect. After you win a round, the game will say “Perfect!” and you’re get a “P” icon on the round win indicator. You can grind this in single player or online. From the main menu, under your player information or record, you can see how many Perfects you have… you need 100.
Oh ok!!! thanks a lot man. BTW, i know what a perfect is
