@Rafy - I got faith in you, dude. Don’t pull a Hamilton and shit on yourself (although I will say that I’m glad Hamilton has finally stopped calling himself a scrub in public!) As for switching mains in Super — if you have to choose between Rufus and Fei Long — I’d prob recommend Rufus. MUCH easier to use, and spamming dive kicks mixed with good option selects, not that I recommend the tactic whatsoever, will mindfuck even seasoned veterans in this game (just watch Ricky Ortiz videos). Fei Long is actually a pretty technical character to get down, whereas Rufus doesn’t require too much execution or thought imo (although I can’t land his bNb consistently at all — st.lk, st.lk, fp xx fp tornado). Food for thought. But hey, if you enjoy playing as Adon, it’s not about winning or losing, is it? =) I play Dhalsim for that reason and that reason alone.
Lol thanks, but I just think that Adon requires so much more out of me than I can give to make him viable in competition. I tried both of them last night, and I just can’t land those one frame links for BnBs and other stuff…my hands aren’t fast enough. But my friend pointed me in Akuma’s direction and he has everything I want with easy mode execution, I’m going to lab it out with him some more when I get time for it…but for now I’ll stick with Adon for any tournaments and such I’m in. It’s mostly not the characters, it’s for the most part me, but I’m trying to just make it all work out better…I don’t spend as much time on super so I need a character that is a bit easier to win with. I have no pride for super anymore, and it’s ok :].
^^^ Akuma is certainly not a bad character to learn, he has a lot of good matchups, and few bad ones.

Pez, I have had extensive time playing the MK9 demo. First off, I dont think this game was made to play on a stick. My main reason why is because of the Block button. Much easier to play on the pad. Combos are fairly basic and easy to pull off. 3 Button combo which can then lead into a special move. I hope they are more available then whats listed in the move list. On top of special moves, you can use EX special moves like SF which uses 1 bar of meter. I think it’s fairly useless, since it seems better to save your meter for the Xray move. Xray move take a lot of damage. It’s easy to pull off press L2+R2 on PS3 but it can be block so it’s best to incorporate it in a combo.
The graphics look good. The stages and player models are real nice. I like the wear and tear on the characters during the match. You can see bruises and tearing in the clothes during the match. Fatalities are what we’re use to seeing. My only gripe with this game is the movement. It moves slightly faster than SF, but there are no dashes. A jump kick will just knock the opp down, so there is no combo potential, unless you use a move like Sub Zero floor freeze when their on ground. Overall, it’s a pretty cool game. I need to play an actual opponent, and I need to remember to press block and not hold back. I will be getting it just for the old school feeling of MK.

@Irvyn - thanks for the review, dude! Yeah, I can see the jump-in attack combos being tough to pull off… for example, Scorpion’s classic cross-up jump kick > teleport > spear > combo… I’m also curious as to how the juggling system works, like if Scorpion’s juggle.hp > jump kick > air throw.

@Pez. I think hat actually does work. The computer was doing that to me all day, lol. Jump in - Teleport in air - and then combo. It didnt use the spear, but I think it would work, especially if you jump kick the opp while they’re also jumping. It works with Mileena. Jump in, teleport, sci. I wish they added the Tag Team as an option just to play around with it.

Hey just a quick update for you guys, my team (Team Whatever - me/my brother/Hotnix) is still in top 16 in Marvel teams and it’s currently suspended until the next day. We were 2-0 (including beating Keits’ team…Nix saved us from an OCV)until we ran into Marn’s team. Marn OCVed us (although Hotnix almost had him), but the tourney took so long with Super teams going simultaneously that they decided to call it until tomorrow. Which means we get to fucking sleep.
Look for us again on the stream tomorrow, we’re gonna be hitting the lab hard tomorrow morning. Just giving you guys a heads-up from the lobby while I Google the nearest pharmacy. I’m gonna need something to counteract our 11:30 victory Waffle House dinner.
