Justin Wong and Eddie Lee both play a pretty good Haohmaru. I don’t think any new tactics have been invented for him specifically in A-groove.
Haohmaru can catch people by surprise if they haven’t played against one before. He’s got a good set of poking normals, a fast dash, and a pretty decent custom combo options. Anti-air options are limited… down fierce can sometimes whiff leaving Haohmaru open to a huge combo. His special moves are crappy, and he doesn’t have any good regular combos and has to rely on counter hits. Roll cancel doesn’t really add anything to his game.

For the record he wears jackboots.
Anyway, I think I pretty much agree with this tier list. I’m another one who thinks Eagle is damn good, but you’re right - he’s probably not top tier, because tiers (at least in the US) consider ease of play/learning as well. A master with Eagle is going to beat a master with Blanka 7/3, IMO, but at lower levels the advantage narrows, and at very low levels, Blanka wins it outright. Eagle is really hard to play well.

There might have been new stuff, but he’ll never EVER be moved to mid, he just doesn’t have anything that can really kill, just confuse.
And I think C-Rol is still better than A, link into lvl 3 tripwire?
Watch some of ohayo’s stuff of himself. I think it was one of his video versus Combo. It is nuts.
And Kuprin, yeah, he’s good, but he’ll never be mid-high or the like.
A-vega stays where he is since he cant really make a comeback. he has a few better matches than A-sak, but A-sak’s CC = dead character or close to it. and she can get in and do some damage with cross up into B&B when she has no meter.
vega’s best practical combo is jumping hp/hk into standing hk.
i still think A rolento is better than C. a rolento has a much easier time vs K groove and people that turtle a lot.
a rolento is random, which is why he will never be as good as c rolento. the only thing he has over c is random activate/grab mix up and a good guard crush combo against p and k groove. c rolento can hit confirm a level 3 trip wire off of his jab for guaranteed damage everytime. a rolento is still really good though.
figured out what my friend was talking about with a-haoh, wasnt anything new
A rolento can counter hit to custom?:wonder:
a-rolento isnt entirely random, but the threat of random activation does allow him to do more in some situations. random activation makes counter hit jab mixups more scary for example.
c-rolento definitely is over a-rolento though - i’m sure this topic has been beaten to death. fuck hit confim into level 3… it’s all about hit confirm into level 2… and still have a counter to run away with/build meter.
rolento is just prone to randomness in general - it doesnt mean he’s a random character, there’s just a lot of opportunity when being pressured/pressuring to throw in something random because of his large moveset.
rc scouter-jab = top tier anti air against everyone but vega and cammy.
he’s an annoying character to play against, but c rolento feels so much more solid.

CH st. jab xx activate low forward
fools, “random” activation > all
My hands are too small, the extra time it takes to move my hands over to activate instead of low forward fucks up my timing
Meaty s.strong activate low forward and jump fierce activate low forward is where it’s at
anyone know who Cammy does poorly against. I’m working on a team and want to make sure it is balanced. C-Another/Cammy/Sagat. Right now I’m trying to find someone to fills in any gaps Cammy has, cause I will probably have the Battery and User be interchangable.

Geese, Rock and Sagat all do fairly good against Cammy.
hmm, so I could probably use C-Vega or C-Blanka.
Other people I’ve been considering are C-Rolento, C-Kyo, and C-Ken. I use N-Iori, but don’t think he can take the user spot as easily as the other’s I’ve listed.

C-Guile does well as user or battery, depending if you like charge character or not^^
^^^ I love C-Guile, but I haven’t been able to do consistent damage with him. I’ve watched a lot of Choi videos too, and I swear it takes his Guile all day to kill someone.
watch some nakanishi vids also, his guile is better than choi’s IMO. playing guile takes a lot of work and a knack for street fighter. you’ll really have to think at all times. you can’t just spam RC booms and low forward and expect to win. i’d say knowing which AA to use in which situation (and sometimes even against which character) is the most important thing to learn because once you train your opponent not to jump, then guile can work his STRONG ground game.
bad matchups for cammy? guile, RC iori, sagat, geese, rock, a good zoning vega. those matchups all aren’t terribly unwinnable, but they’re at least 6-4 or worse.

Not trying to turn this into a guile thread but you can also watch the good old daigo guile matches.
Guile does very decent damage with Lvl2 cancel and this super is great AA as well.
But yeah playing Guile, you have to be patient and take your time^^ (who said camping? :p)
Does anyone know how I can use my team of N-Groove Ryu,Chun and Ben to defeat a really good Sagat, Blanka and Yam. Im sort of new to the game and Im not sure how to overcome top tier characters with such low tier scrubs.
