you’re not saying that VDO was using A-Joe are you? he ONLY plays P-groove, and his P-joe is beastly. and to answer the inevitable question of “what does he do that’s so good that i can X-copy?” he’s played P-groove forever, people don’t have a lot of experience against joe, and he knows the character inside and out. same with his P-raiden and P-yama.

joe is good character mainly because of the “baku cancel”: the technique that gives you massive frame advantage off of 4 hit rc hands (doesnt have to be RCed, but the move has to be done up close for the technique to work). this is actually one of the most powerful techniques in the game; its like a better rc electricity since you can combo normals and supers (and cc’s) off of it and also gives you a billion options afterward on block

Umm I don’t speak japanese but from my expirences on the internet have lead me to believe that there is a big difference in the meaning of baku and bukkake.

I just checked. I was watching the videos in a batch with a bunch of VDO matches, and one match was some Japanese dude using A-Joe. Sorry for the confusion.

Buk posted how to do it in his Campbell’s Tip of the day thread. If you’re trying to find something in a huge thread, try switching to the printable verison, display 10 000 posts on a page, then search using the find function.

After a bit of experimentation, I finally found the trick to linking after Joe’s fierce crazy hands consistently:

Do the crazy hands, and RIGHT before the seconds hit of the hands, tap jab+fierce twice really quick.

If you do it right so that you only get a 4th hit, links after become braindead easy. The frame advantage after the 4th hit has to be at LEAST +11 or more.

Anyway, this opens up a ton of possiblities: the generic thing to do would be to link a sweep afterward for a knockdown and lots of damage (2500 damage for a move that often RCed randomly? sweet!). You can link supers. You can link CC’s. You can walk forward and STILL link a jab, and buffer into fierce crazy hands again. You can walk a little farther and go for counter hit low strong into hands. And of course, you can mix up throws in there.

Use your imagination. This becomes a BEAST when Joe corners the opponent. Videos of Version playing A-Joe are kinda rare, but if you find one you might catch him doing some crazy ass shit with this.

Thoughts?

Some things that I don’t agree with are that they put Vega (claw) vs Bison (dictator) as even. Also they put a-Blanka vs a-Sakura in a-Blanka’s favor.

They put A-blanka vs. A-sak in Blanka’s favour. A-sak vs. K-Blanka is 7-3 in her favour. vs. C-Blanka its 6-4. I guess A-groove makes all the difference for Blanka, haha.
Geese has no good matchups :(. Except for like Guile and Ryu, haha. Aw well, Deadly rave is the great equalizer.
I like the Raiden beating up on Cammy 7-3 lol.

wow. i’d love to know how raiden beats cammy. i hate that match up with a passion. cammy can rush him down or poke him all day. it doesn’t really matter because she can rape the shit out of him. i know damage is in his favor but that sounds a little iffy.

Have you guys ever actually played Raiden when using Cammy? There’s this guy that uses Raiden at SVGL…and he always goes deep into my team with him…and then R2 Kim just comes back for the win…but the point being that it really is a hard matchup for Cammy. I’ve noticed that he gets random (or maybe not so random, but they seem hella random to me) counter hits off of any poke I do, which then leads to combos he just mashes out. Once knocked down, that damn cross-up splash thing is insanely hard to cannon spike…and even when you do it deep, it’ll still trade…which is another counter hit for Raiden…The fact that he’s a tank and Cammy’s a little girl doesn’t help either. It’s like 2 to 1 for combos, or at least that’s how it seems when you’re playing him, and the only thing that levels it out is my K-groove lvl 3s. Raiden is beastly…until too many people play him, then he’ll be just another tier.

what moves is he using to get ch’s? i would think that raiden’s ch/throw game has got to be one of the nastier ones due to his 85 PIXEL PUNCH THROW RANGE ODAM

think about it, you can do c.jabx2 wait, throw among other ugly ass ticks. i get like 4 throws per round minimum every time unless i get raped or something.
