My bad, meant Power Dunk instead of Rising Tackle.
You’re right, but I don’t see the point in it, the dmg is pitifully low and you have to be right next to them to connect it. You’re better off just doing crMK/MP into whatever, or doing LKx2 into Busta Wolf.

Cr. MP doesn’t hit low. If you’re trying to mix up, it helps to have a high/low mix going.
As for Buster Wolf, obviously, you’re not gonna have meter at all times.
Ah, my bad. You could still do crMK into whatever. I just don’t see the point in doing LKx2 into Tackle when the dmg is comparable to a Sweep.

Hit confirm. You can’t confirm cr. MK into the next move, so if your opponent blocks, you’re doing unsafe shit. Comboing two cr. LKs eliminates that issue.
Makes sense. Don’t mean to play theory fighter with you.
Actually I just messed around in Training Mode, and Terry can link crLK into Power Dunk. So Power Dunk isn’t so worthless I guess. Timing is strict though. It’s a bit better then comboing into Rising Tackle and risk the opponent being pushed away and whiffing, or not having enough charge to do the move. Not to mention you could do crLK, sLK, into LK Crack Shot. And the most obvious one crLKx2 into LK Crack Shot.
I’m definitely adding Terry to my team. Very good character, great links, he’s remained mostly unchanged from his KOF roots, and he speaks Engrish. What’s not to like?
Starting to dig Geese too. Solid character, obviously very hard to use. I’m still trying to perfect linking into Deadly Rave. I don’t get why his Raising Storm has the hardest input in the entire game though. I’ve done it the original way and the shortcut (HCBx2 and HCF) and I seem to have more luck with the shortcut.
I hate what Capcom did to Joe. He barely plays like his KOF version. I can’t believe they took away his toward B kick. That was his best link in every KOF, and for them to take that away is like the Shotos not having the crMK link, it’s an essential part of the character.
So I’m guessing that the tier list in the first post is pretty outdated?
I was just wondering which of the top tier chars is the best and in what order like Blanka, Sagat, Vega, Bison, Sakura, Cammy etc. Anybody who knows or should I rely on the first post by Buk?

Its not that its oudated, its more like things haven’t advanced too much. The game is pretty figured out from all these years of playing. There might be slight alterations but in general the list is right.
Personally Blanka is the best by far in A Groove, then it can be said that CBS of any other Groove along with A Bison as being top. Theres no strict list, but the list says enough.
I will forever say that A-Groove is Yamazaki’s best. How anyone can prefer C over it is beyond me.

I disagree with that. I think CvS2 progressed plenty since that list was made, and it’s still progressing, IMO. We still never took N-Groove where it should have gone, if you ask me.

A bit curious on what you think on the game progressing still HAV. Maybe theres something i missed crucially. Its just with SSFIV’s huge success, its hard to get others hyped…and i just haven’t seen too much different in the game so far. In regards to the tier list, i still think its mostly accurate enough and changes haven’t been too big.
I do agree that N Groove is being slept on however…
Sorry to ask this but I searched the forum, I did a Google search and couldn’t find what I’m looking for, and the subforums are dead. Can anyone link to some high level Geese play?
You should probably ask this in the ask me something-thread but anyways: Check out Yane, he’s one of the best K-Groove players in Japan.

There’s like over 30 matches with him against Uma.
I’m curious about the N-Groove remarks. Why you guys say that? You mean in terms of usage in high level play (or should I say lack of usage)?
I don’t think N-groove is/was really slept on personally. People did explore it, especially when the game first came out and Nuki and Buk showed us what it was really capable of. I just don’t it has what it takes to take out the two top grooves (C, and A) consistently. It’s too mix-up oriented.
I think N is actually one of the best grooves out there. I play N-Iori/Morrigan/2-Chunli. N has so many movement options, you don’t even really feel trapped.

As far as groove-specific tiers go… (I believe Cammy, Blanka, and Sagat are universal, so they won’t be included)
C - Honda, Chun-li, Guile, Ken, Rugal
A - Dictator, Claw, Sakura, Hibiki, Kyo
N - Honda, Chun-li, Iori, Dictator, Geese
P - Vega, Kyo, Guile, Rock, Geese
K - Kyo, Geese, Vega, Yamazaki, Morrigan
Of course this is entirely my opinion, so please do think that I’m trying to enforce a point or something.
