Wow…ok…Nintendo dropped some bombs this time around…I wasn’t expecting all of that.
Direct 1/23/13 overview
So Wii U VC will be up in Spring following the first of 2 OS updates to make the system better, 1 in spring and 1 in summer. If you have downloaded the title before then you only have to pay a $1/1.50 to redownload the title and get Wii U pad/miiverse functionality for the NES and SNES. There is also going to be a celebration of the NES for a few months where you can buy a trial version of a game for 30 cents. 1 game per month for 30 days. Edit: Oh yeah and GBA has been confirmed as a new platform to show up as well.
Miiverse will also be getting various improvements throughout the coming months. Pikmin 3 has a camera function within it with the ability to post to miiverse…not just a screen shot. You can take pictures from Olimar and the Pikmin’s point of view. Miiverse app for smartphones will also be available in the Spring.
EAD Tokyo Mario, Mario Kart, and Smash will be shown at E3.
New Wonderful 101 footage with VA’s…still looks fucking awesome. Bayo 2 development footage along with seeing a render of Bayo strutting her stuff…‘You want to touch me?’
The rumored Yoshi game is real and is being done by Good Feel. Has the same style as Epic Yarn except it’s done with far better graphics and of course yoshi gameplay. Copious amounts of D’awwwww will probably be had again.
Fire Emblem X Shin Megami comes from out of nowhere.
Wind Waker Wii U is in development. Game is a complete graphical overhaul and not just an HD upres port. Apparently they were just messing around with doing some things in Wind Waker using Wii U just to test it and they got carried away and said ‘whatever let’s just make the damn thing’. Off-TV play will be available as well as some Gameplay fixes and miiverse capability. Seems that the game won’t be completely the same.
The actual ground up Zelda Wii U title’s focus will be on fixing linearity…‘back to basics’.
Then finally to top it off Monolith Soft shows off what pretty much looks to be an Xenoblade Chronicles sequel.

yeah I haven’t regretted buying my Wii U, but these announcements just made me so damn happy.
Oh yeah I forgot the fact that GBA games were announced for Wii U VC as well…I’ll add that to the overview I typed. I also find this move to be uh…interesting considering I know people waiting to dl GBA games on their 3DS.
I know. March 19th is also opening night for “All of My Money.” across various platforms. I’ll be scooping dat Demo for sure, can’t wait for MH3U, its going to be my first hurrah into the series and damn am I looking forward to it.
Wii U VC coming…did I hear that direct correctly…GBA!? GAME BOY FUCKING ADVANCE!? JUST…Gimmie the Castlevanias so I can write out the checks now. Oh god.
Personally excited about Bayonetta 2, Epic Yarn Yoshi, and Wind WakerHD Remix. A New Mario is always good. RE Revelations seems like a great time (played Demo on 3DS) Folks getting loud about that, SHIN MEGAMI X FIRE EMBLEM. May have to check that out too. Smash at E3? w00t.
This will be the E3 we wanted from nintendo last year. They’re throwing everything they have to fight the new consoles that might get announced this year… And I think those consoles will not be announced this year.

So excited for the new Zelda “going back to basics.” I hope that also includes a second quest. Same for the WW remake.
If that X game has off screen co op then nintendo has less to worry about
Sooooo since that Yoshi game got revealed that leak that happened on miiverse has come back up
among some of the things on that list that haven’t been said so far are MGS, metroid, Donkey Kong, Final Fantasy 3, and Dragon Quest X. Let’s assume that the Resident Evil game that’s on that list is Revelations. Very interesting…That reminds me I need to update the front with Revelations…had forgotten about that for a second.
So Nintendo just indirectly confirmed that MGS GZ is coming to Wii U
Nobody confirmed anything lol. I’d still take that list with a grain of salt but keep it in the back of your mind…it’s just interesting tis all. Maybe we’ll find out at E3?
Wind Waker HD looks like total shit.
Having to pay for being able to play it on the Gamepad and having the Miiverse kind of sucks but getting a SMT crossover with Fire Emblem and Wind Waker HD is making me cry tears of joy. Also they seem to realize that Zelda could use more sequence breaking then the standard go to dungeon, get tool , beat boss, use tool to get to next dungeon and repeat cycle.
