After multiple sessions of having to be a damn squid atlas carrying my whole team most games, I finally cracked a+ rank. Never mind that I ranked down to A shortly after; it felt good to be there if only for a moment.

Also finished single player. That last boss, wow so good. Made me sad to see Iwata’s name roll during the credits.

Have you done any of the Time Attack speed runs? To me, that is where the ingenuity of the level design really stands out. Every level can be done at full speed and the physics and controls are so tight. They take persistence and memorization, but with a little practice Tropical Freeze has some of the best platforming I’ve ever played, especially with Cranky. It’s key to get the instant barrel break move down to shave seconds off for those shiny gold medals.
