if this is true then what I hoped would happen is indeed happening when Miyamoto started putting in that ‘helper’ stuff back with NSMBWii and beyond. It frees them up to make the standard difficulty for their games have a bit more bite without having to worry about someone not being able to finish their game.

So dumb question concerning Mario kart. At the end of every race there is a an empty star with a 0/6 next to it and you can press + to give it a star. What the fuck does it do?
It favorites the replay for that race and saves it. So if you have an especially good race you can make sure that it’s not overwritten as you keep playing.

Yeah, but keep in mind you can only save 6 favorites. If you’re full, you can go to MK TV and erase some to make room. It also saves your last 6 or so most recent matches, in case you want to save a good one but don’t have room.
I usually reserve them for when I have an incredibly good wipe out. Like when I did Bowser’s Castle for the first time on 200cc. I mushroomed off the first ramp with the spinning fire right into the ball in chain on the second ramp, which launched me way the fuck off the track and into the lava pit. Shit was hilarious in slow-mo.
Ugh. Unlocking everything is a pain in the ass. Just did all the 50cc and top half of 100cc. Everyone is unlocked but Baby Rosalina. still have a lot of the Karts, wheels and gliders to unlock.
So there’s a new MK8 update. It unlocked Mirror and 200cc for me even though I haven’t 3-starred everything. Thanks Nintendo.
Tried the amiibo tap thing out.
Lucario got me A Link to the Past.
Mega Man got me Super Mario World.
Toon Link got me Super Mario Bros.
And Link got me Kirby’s Adventure.
Guess the demos you get are truly randomized. I wonder what Shulk will give me.
Speaking of amiibos, I found out that other amiibos you use with Hyrule Warriors (aside from Link and Toon Link who seem to always give 3 star Horse/Spinner weapons) have a chance of giving you gold materials. I’m not sure if this is random or based on the number of times you’ve used said amiibo, since at first I just kept getting small rupee gifts or a certain amount of bronze materials.
It’s random. Anything non-Zelda related will give you 1-50k rupees, 4 star weapon for a character, 50 of a bronze item, 10 of a silver item, or 1 gold item.
Splatoon videos made me giggle.
Definitely gonna get on that Splatoon demo tomorrow. Not missing that. I may even go straight home after work to make sure I don’t miss it lol
