Yeah putting premiers on at 3am is going to help the 12-3 block.

maybe, maybe not.

if the 3-6am portion was occupied with classic shows, then i would say go for it. but, ideally, we would want the classic shows to be on at a earlier time and let AS’ remaining anime titles occupy the butt-end of the block.

here’s my ideal schedule:

12 - new show premier
12.5 - new show premier
1 - new show/og show premier
1.5 - og show
2 - og show
2.5 og show
3 - FMA B
3.5 - FLCL
4 - GITS
4.5 - Drrr
5 - Seinfeld
5.5 - Cowboy Bebop

Saying to put premiers in the 3-6am block is assuming that people are willing to not only stay up until 3am to see them, but will sit through a 12-3 block of possible repeats for it. That’s not a realistic scenario when you want to get as many viewers as possible.

They could definitely get more new shows to put in the 12-3 block, and put older content in the 3-6 block, for dedicated viewers. You can even put in something solid at 12am if you could do better than Bleach. It’s a damn shame when that’s leading the numbers. A shorter series like FLCL leading into new material could work. Then we’re probably not in this thread every week talking about BLEACH BLEACH BLEACH like we are with Filler.

For 3-4am, Gundam. Just make it Gundam.

And if I had it my way, 4:30 would be Seinfeld, then 5-6 would be the old black & white shows like Gigantor.

I can’t believe I’m playing theory fighter with programming blocks.

Putting anything but repeats for the 3-6 part of the block is overkill and a waste of funds they are already thin in.

They have a decent system as it is now, but it could use tweaking.

12AM Bleach: Still definitely the way to go. Put your biggest moneymaker up and then put what you want to have good ratings right behind it, and with how long Bleach is gonna run, by the time we get to its end, either Toonami will already be gone, or will have more than enough backing and money for other shit that could feasibly take its place.

12:30: Casshern Sins: Casshern should move to this slot as with DW down, this is what people are gonna be coming for now after Bleach. Once Casshern goes down, then Samurai can take its place. This spot should go to newer shows in the middle of their runs.

1AM: Samurai 7: This is where newly premiering shows should show up until the 12:30 shows finish their runs, which Samurai 7 would fit.

1:30 AM: Eureka 7: Where ā€œnewā€ old shows should probably end up. Or at least the lesser seen ones. Pretty much, use this slot for niche shows, try to see how that goes. But essentially getting cheaper stuff to be able to show on here while maintaining viewers.

2-3 AM: Either A) A show that just finished a run from earlier spots (say DW) and have them get another run down here so people could catch up if they wanted or B) Older/OG shows that haven’t been rerunneed to death already. Or hell both, put DW at 2 AM and then finish it off with a Gundam or whatever.

Really, the top 3 is where they’re expecting the most viewers anyway, so toploading like this will help. But honestly, a lot of Toonami’s success will fall upon Bleach. The fact that it’s now out of filler will help. Hell the fact that it was pulling bad numbers getting out of filler than what it was pulling a week or two ago WITH filler strikes me as very odd, so again, I’d say to take the numbers we saw as an aberration until we see what happens tomorrow night. If the bad numbers happen again with nothing running against Toonami, then I’d starting sweating.

True. They may as well go ahead and fill in GITS’ time slot with either some oldschool or something good from the new hotness. C’mon Tom!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Anime fans torrenting their shit, alongwith everyoe else losing interest. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t see this comng.

I would love it if Toonami would give a game a bad review. That Deadlight has mediocre written all over it

*Yammy sending those 2 esparda chicks back in the kitchen was the only entertaining thing this entire episode. *

Huh, well, I guess half of Sam 7’s intro is better than nothing.

He gave it a mediocre review, just gave it a 7 for the hell of it I guess.

I’d like to see that was well; but Toonami only reviews the big, critical acclaimed games. I remembered seeing them review Skyrim, and Slender.

If that rich guy doesn’t get a sword through the gut by episode’s end I’ll be disappointed

Pretty much this. It’s kinda slow for a bit, but it starts picking up later on. I’m not sure about 3 or 4 eps early on, but fairly early on, and before you know it, there are some really badass moments.

Do all of Chris Sabat’s characters have a massive appetite?

Guess I gotta wait next episode for the rich guy to get owned.

This show gets darker and darker.
