Putting anything but repeats for the 3-6 part of the block is overkill and a waste of funds they are already thin in.
They have a decent system as it is now, but it could use tweaking.
12AM Bleach: Still definitely the way to go. Put your biggest moneymaker up and then put what you want to have good ratings right behind it, and with how long Bleach is gonna run, by the time we get to its end, either Toonami will already be gone, or will have more than enough backing and money for other shit that could feasibly take its place.
12:30: Casshern Sins: Casshern should move to this slot as with DW down, this is what people are gonna be coming for now after Bleach. Once Casshern goes down, then Samurai can take its place. This spot should go to newer shows in the middle of their runs.
1AM: Samurai 7: This is where newly premiering shows should show up until the 12:30 shows finish their runs, which Samurai 7 would fit.
1:30 AM: Eureka 7: Where ānewā old shows should probably end up. Or at least the lesser seen ones. Pretty much, use this slot for niche shows, try to see how that goes. But essentially getting cheaper stuff to be able to show on here while maintaining viewers.
2-3 AM: Either A) A show that just finished a run from earlier spots (say DW) and have them get another run down here so people could catch up if they wanted or B) Older/OG shows that havenāt been rerunneed to death already. Or hell both, put DW at 2 AM and then finish it off with a Gundam or whatever.
Really, the top 3 is where theyāre expecting the most viewers anyway, so toploading like this will help. But honestly, a lot of Toonamiās success will fall upon Bleach. The fact that itās now out of filler will help. Hell the fact that it was pulling bad numbers getting out of filler than what it was pulling a week or two ago WITH filler strikes me as very odd, so again, Iād say to take the numbers we saw as an aberration until we see what happens tomorrow night. If the bad numbers happen again with nothing running against Toonami, then Iād starting sweating.
