Try adding a texture to the background so it’s not just a gradient. Also consider a quote or your name or something with text to personalize it.
I did the K’ one a page back, really simple too, I just added a bit more paint marks to the rest. Maybe a very slight bit of texture?
thanks guys, I was planning on etching my gametag into the lower corner, or something similiar whether etched or text on the art.
Im new to this whole thing, I got photoshop cs5 and im learning, I used it before for school and such, so I know all the basics, but I never really went into something like this full force.

any thoughts?? This added 2 textures, a concrete wall with slime on it lol and some rocky image
To me, the elements should “relate” a bit more. If you notice, many of the coolest designs have characters and backgrounds that are very complementary to each other.
You are using a photo element and an illustration together which can be a bit tricky. Personally, I’d make sure the colors were cohesive or both elements have the same treatment. That’s what always tend to do with posters and ad campaigns and haven’t had any issues :wgrin:
Hope that helps!
yea im lost, there isnt to much I can do to that image of the skeleton without killing the appearance. I understand what your saying though, like I said im learning. This is tricky.
Don’t give up, just mess around with it. Here’s what I was talking about, quick and dirty, really rough, but you get the idea.

It would need more work of course. LOTS of work! I just deleted the white around the skeleton, didn’t have time to properly mask it. Looks like hell! Haw! I also noticed the skeleton has a silky, almost watercolor-y feel to his robes. Maybe pull some of that in for a background instead. I understand you wanted to keep it clean. I like clean as well! Good luck man!
idk what version of ps your using but in cs5 theres a magic eraser, and if you click the white around him it deletes it and makes it transparent, then its just copy and paste, you have to use the background eraser in the middle of the scythe but thats about it for him lol
So if I changed my background around a little and made it blue to match than would it be a step in the right direction? I am working on something like it now and it seems better
Oh, I know the skeleton cut out looks mad ghetto, but I literally threw that together in 35 seconds. I never use erase tools. EVER. I use masks. You get more control and you don’t “destroy” the original image.
As far as what you should do, it is ultimately up to you. If it feels better to you, it probably IS better. Take a look at some other people’s stuff and take inspiration from that. Have fun!

??? idk, im at a loss LOL I think ill stick to one i was gonna use originally (none of these)
Haw!
Whatever works best, your opinion counts the most!
Hope it turns out great!
Here’s a really simple one I did earlier… not sure how much more I want to alter it. Looks really photoshoppy to me, so I might end up working on it more…

Posted here a week ago asking for suggestions. Well nobody replied and now I have made the label and put it on my stick.
What do you think? Smple design is the way for me. (the colors are a lot brighter, this picture was taken with my phone)
I’m a total pheonix wright nerd, so this gets my seal of approval.

looks good Jon. Don’t know who that guy is though…
hehe…
I think you did a nice job. It’s a tough layout for such vertical art, but hey, you didn’t go lopping off the face in the button holes or anything!
Looks clean!

Thanks for the positive feedback
Chuu, He is a character from Phoenix Wright. His name is Godot and I think he is the only character whose English name is the same as his Japanese.
Jetjaguar, yeah and using a vertical art leaves some empty corners. However it seems to work this way
ANimated this back then as an avatar
And a signature to acompany it.

Haha sweet!
But isn’t his coffee his own personal blend?
Made this in a couple of minutes for someone, just wanted to know what i can possibly add or do anything to it. Buddy of mine thinks its fine but i feel its lacking something, feed back would be awesome

It looks fine to me… I would be greatly worried about how it will print.
Looks like you enlarged it the main Skrull image right?
It looks like there is quite a bit of artifacting in the reds, although that happens when you optimize for the web. Make sure the image looks clean cos the print process is unforgiving!
