THE OFFICIAL SRK MvC3 DLC Request Petition

Interesting list. I for one don’t care for returning characters as DLC. If they didn’t include ok fine I’ll get over it, but if I’m paying for DLC I want something NEW not what I had before but was just left out.

Same here, I don’t understand why anyone would want dlc old characters…

My reasoning:

Juggernaut: He’s been in the VS. series since X-Men vs. SF, and he brings another big character to the table, but he’d likely have some Super Armor.

Psylocke: Marvel’s answer to Chun-Li? she’s pretty popular, and if Sentinel is in, well, Marvel 2 fans would rejoice.

Rogue: She must have her special-stealing ability. Now that the game’s done with models, they don’t have to animate sprites for every possible move, and this ability from X-Men vs. SF makes her unique.

Pyron: Yeah, a Darkstalkers character. But he’s also a villain (something the Capcom side sorely lacks), as well as a ‘galactic being’ (might make a good rival for Phoenix).

Sigma: Another Capcom villain. Also popular. The ‘form’ chosen could affect gameplay so he’s not just a Zero clone.

Tessa: Red Earth doesn’t get much of a chance, but Tessa’s fighting style could make a transition to Marvel quite easily.

Capcom is very smart. They know that MVC2 hardcore want their old characters back, and they are willing to pay for them.

Having Strider as DLC would be smart move by capcom not because of fans. They don’t have to split their money that they made from mvc3 disc itself with royalties for Strider. It is more cheaper to split it if they sell Strider by itself as DLC. (My opinions)

Diek, will you be recounting the votes after the time period is over? Chances are you may have included votes by people who have put in their votes AFTER registration the first time you counted.
You’ll be giving the results to d3v to add to Unity’s voting as well, correct?
EDIT: Oh and it would help to treat Carnage and Venom as one and the same since…Venom could get a Carnage/red color pallete, and likewise, Carnage would get a Venom/blue color pallete.

Except those certain throwaway characters happen to be plaguing our list as well… I think you should consider tallying a complete list at the end, even mentioning the characters that only got one vote.

I disagree, I want the new stuff on disc and the option of buying older characters, especially since I’ll already have an idea of whether or not I’ll like them. Imo, dlc should be the afterthoughts and the fresh stuff should be on disc.

True but what moves would Venom have that Carnage wouldn’t have? …and even if Venom were to get a new movelist, wouldn’t Carnage have a similar one too?
MODOK and MODAM are different characters, yet you can play as MODOK with a MODAM color pallette.

fused or not, I’m liking it. The top 4 is almost the same… anyways, you are the original of this whole dlc petition craze. :tup:

venom is buff as hell so i don’t see a nice “carnage” costume for him, it’s like brock lesnar compared to Y2J is terms of physique.

Since from what I understand, characters from Sengoku Basara and Onimusha can’t be chosen other than Soki (which sucks), here are my choices.

Marvel side:

• Gambit (he has a unique style and he’s popular)
• Rogue (x-men vs sf style move stealing)
• Iceman (re-design him with ice slides,etc)

Capcom side:

• Sigma (capcom needs villains)
• Soki (there must be some representative of Onimusha)
• Jack Krauser (same as with Sigma, also have him with bow and tyrant arm moves)

On a sidenote, they should have picked Bison instead of Akuma as a villain and for Marvel they should have put in Iceman as wel as Firestar, so I can play with Spider-man and his amazing friends :lovin:

if people are concerned about there being too many ‘throwaway votes’ in this petition, a second petition featuring only say, the top 15 characters (from each side of course) would make a lot of sense,

just make a list of the top 15 results gained from this petition and make a kinda ‘forced’ voting list. in theory it should seperate the top characters by a larger degree if you have the same amount (or more) voting.

and i still dont understand the logic of a forced closure date on characters wanted for DLC…

Since, i think people mean the brock-venom, and going by cannon, i’m thinking anti-venom (nearly the same move sets as MVC-venom) with the old symbiot as as a different costume. Just like spiderman having the old-symbiot spidey as his alt. You guys should check this out.

Venom is a body builder–Carnage is skinny
Venom doesn’t really warp his symbiot into weapons–Carnage always morphs his symbiote
Venom shoot’s web–Carnage doesn’t shoot web
Venom’s symbiot doesn’t separate–Carnage can shoot bladed/piercing symbiote projectiles

So unless Marvel’s retooled the characters to the point where they’re unrecognizable to their original depictions in the 1990’s, and Capcom would go with the newer versions of them, there’s no way a pallet swap would work.

And honestly, it’s not looking too good for either of them, i heard Marvel already said they didn’t want Venom in it, and Carnage is still alittle weak with fan support, might be tough to animate, and might take up a decent amount of ram…although they don’t need his symbiote to be floating around everywhere all the time, he’s not like some sort of blob, just make him more of a dahlsim character with projectiles.

But, if it would help chances of getting one of the two of them into the game, I’d be a supporter of pulling their votes together despite it’s irrationallity.
