Yeah, tested it a bit further, walking backwards is pretty top tier, even with close range characters. Feel like a dick for testing it on a nice player, but I got a headache ~__~.
Yup i played my first online matches yesterday, and some more today. I didn’t think it would effect me that much either, but i find it very difficult to link with out the sound… it’s pretty annoying, fix it Crapcom, it should of been fixed already. Unacceptable imo.
The game itself seems really robotic to me… it just feels… odd. Mostly everyone i’ve faced so far seems about as scrubby as i am atm. I can’t really tell if i like or dislike this game yet, but Crapcom could of done alot better then what they did with this. Why can’t they just make a normal 2d fighter, or re-release cvs2 so i don’t have to keep trying these new fighters that never quite live up to their hype.
I did fight a couple of good players, both teams consisted of Rolento, big shock there i know. When he is putting pressure on you, you’re basically locked to the ground and screwed, unless you have a bar and can get cross counter to come out, i haven’t been able to get that to come out once. Basically, the way they made the game to allow you to pressure your opponent(if you know what you’re doing) is kind of broken imo.
And the jab, jab, jab kind of crap, blame Crapcom they made it that way.
My only complaint is the lack of Dan Hibiki as a playable character. That and the lag.
God bless the day when I don’t have to keep fighting Ryu and Ken online for 2 hours when there’s like 100 other characters on the roster, come on people just because they all don’t do fucking fireball shit balls doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t win with them!!!:annoy: Endorsing Variety!!!>:( Fuck that Capcom doesn’t need to put out DLC characters cause it aint’t like people going to use them anyway as long as those Shoto Fucks is on the roster players is going to cancer online play with the same fighting formula “Hadoken, Shofuckingryuken,” It’s like God added an 11th plague to annoy people online with fighting the same damn team! then when you whoop that ass you get messages like Kazuya is broken that’s all you got with Hugo? he’s broken all he does is grab:sad::lame: " Damn right so maybe when you Shoto’s will test the waters maybe you can see that there’s more to the game than those water wave piss balls Ken and Ryu keep pulling out they’re ass. My Christmas wish to Hado’s DIE!!
50% of the rounds ends in time out and 7 frame throws
wtf
I’ve had launchers come out on strings… due to negative edge. That is annoying as hell
I had no idea so many idiots posted on SRK lol.
Nerf hugo… lmao.
Throws are a funny thing here-
7 frames, super close execution range-
Pffft… No way I’m getting thr…
tech roll from just getting thrown
DAMNIT… That won’t happen ag…
tech roll from being thrown again
Well that was interesting…
I mean its my strategy but it reqlly shouldn’t be viable for ogre to just cadc backwards all day building ridiculous meter and being able to send my opponent flying across the screen with a 360 degree 12 frame invincible reversal so i can build more meter
I think I can say now, after playing for one week, that I don’t get this game.
I’ve been decent in SSF4, but this one I really don’t understand. I don’t know why. I’t frustrating because I have fun playing it.
There are just some things I simply fail to understand every single time. I have no idea when to punish in this game and this has been my strength in SF. I block Rolento’s rekkas or anything Law does and when I try to punish I get hit by another move.
I KNOW these moves can’t be safe because otherwise people would rant all day long about it as they did with Yun. It’s just that I don’t get it.
And when I’m frustrated I get back to picking Hugo and Gief, my mains in 3rd Strike and SSF4, win a few games but get bored by timeovers. Winning by timeover isn’t really that much fun to me.
Why is this so difficult for me? Am I just an idiot?
You must be new here.
hop off that ryu/ken dick, goddamn there are other characters in the game
yeah, this game is FAR from perfect, but i like there first try in this new sandbox.
but yeah, throws being so short ranged AND 4 frames slower than sf4 is a baaaad thing. i can get around it, but i dont LIKE having to play around it. then again i didnt LIKE baiting reversals all day i sf4… but i got used to it. chasing people down was horrendous in sf4, this game makes that one look like its being played o a ring out stage in soulcalibur. WHY ARE THE STAGES SO HUGE AND THE WALK SPEEDS EVEN SLOWER? its like they only want motherfuckers playing defense.
oh yeah, ive said it before, but i hate ex moves in general.
oh so i have to wait to get my powerful NON SUPER ATTACK… awesome, lets normal each other to death for half the round till we’ve built up some meter and can really start fighting. i dont mind the cross rush combos… but i do think they are WAAAY to homogenous right now. and way too good for batteries to use.
the balance is lacking but i also expect something to be done about that via patch. anywho im looking forward to see what this game looks like after a couple of patches… it could be great.
right now its “just” fun.
-dime
how the fuck do you beat hugo, it feels like everything he does is safe goddamn
Lol theres things I hate about this game but Geeeez gaad… You guys suck ass. I lol at your glorious tears and complaints.

Another 50 or so games since my last rant. Not much has changed. Its still lp, lp, lp (occasional overhead attempt), walk forward lp, lp until Magic Series. Doesnt matter how good your defenses are, eventually you are gonna get tagged if your grab range and startup frames are so shitty that its not a threat to the lp serial offenders who can glide up and tap tap tap until you get hit.
Seriously, ive tried doing this back and it really works and is effective and matches then consist of nothing more deep than who can get in with their lp lp lp first, then rinse and repeat with the occasional cross-up thrown in for good measure. Its not deep, its not a feeling of yeah i really outthought them or anything satisfying. Its pure garbage actually. Whomever has the safest, shortest frame moves wins most of the time.
Is Pandora still completely useless? Yes
Is online still a broken lagfest? Yes
Is the sound any better (NO) and is it still offputting to those trying to time their links? Yes
Are the stages too big? Yes
Does this seem like a deep and immersive fighting game that could be labeled a classic in ten years? Not at this stage NO.
Does it still take ages to choose the same characters match after match and wait 15 seconds for the loading screen before each fight? Oh Yes.
I dont remember being this bored or feeling so unrewarded at any fighting game ive ever played. In my wins ive never felt like i truly earned them or out thought or out skilled my opponents. In every other sf style game where iv won or lost ive mainly felt outplayed or somebody has tied me in knots with a skill so brilliant that i can go back to training and come back. I really felt like i learnt something from losing in those games. And when i won i really felt i earned it the hard way.
This feels about as unrewarding and unsatisfying and as deep as a game of Frogger.
While I shall admit that winning feels unrewarding, theres a slight problem…I hardly ever win, lol.
Not because I am a garbage player, but I am one of those players who likes to use low tier characters or hard to use characters to give myself a challenge (No, not any of the hipster crap, I have always done it, plus most of the characters I like are usually classed as low tier anyway) In SSFIV, I used Cody and Dee Jay, two characters who are noted for not being the strongest…but I still won a lot of matches with them, why? because I out played people, with the characters I chose, I had to work for my win, and when I got it, the satisfaction was over 9000.
Although in this, it feels impossible to win with lower tier characters, if I face a Ryu or Kazuya or Rolento in this, I am screwed…
haven’t you seen the rolento salt?
his patriot circle is -1 on block. i dont think anything is fast enough to punish this.
however, rolentos fastest move is 4 frames (standing lp)
so if rolento does standing lp after patriot circle and you have a fast enough move that: 1. comes out in 4 frames or less, 2. have enough reach, you’ll win every time, unless he does something like ex patriot circle instead of standing lp
