The Official Ranting Thread

That’s how you see it. How can you say they’re not respecting old-school MM fans when this version is literally a throwback to the first MM game cover? It’s a nod to the 8-bit days, and only the older generation would get it.

Don’t hate cause he’s not a little boy in a blue suit w/ an arm cannon.

It is a throwback to a horrible US box art cover that is looked at with mirthful derision by one and all. It is funny because it is so bad. It is funny because it is such a strange thing to be associated with an otherwise high quality game. By putting a spotlight on it and converting it into a complete character you take the joke several steps beyond funny to the point of lame, sad, and honestly, insulting.

alright, two words:

your opinion

well this is the thread for people to bitch and moan about anything i guess…even though it doesnt fucking matter if megaman and pacman are there because their asses are banned in tournament play…so why even go there?

online play its something different but in the end…who give a damn? if you feel trolled because someone owned you up with pac man then thats all you…if you feel like their wasted slots, that not even a fucking issue as they didnt even effect the 360 roster…P.S. Xbox didnt even want exlcusives anyways…so whats the problem? i could rant off all day about how silly it is on how people are bitching about getting reveals but then bitch again later about not getting them…its fucking fantastic dont you think?

That’s the motherfucking point with me.
I get the cats, they are Sony mascots
I kinda get Cole, since he only apeared on PS3

But Mega-Man and Pacman?
Console exclusive?

WHAT!?

I seriously don’t get it (Oh wait, i do $$$)
This means that Capcom wasted time on 5 characters that could have been; Alex and Karin for example.

Seriously, smh

boo-motherfucking hoo man Mircosoft didn’t want exclusives…deal with it. but Alex and Karin for one reason or another, don’t make it in, it wasn’t the guest characters fault o_O but i guess it is because you need someone to blame because they didnt make the cut.

but yes lets blame sony for having 5 guest characters because they are the root of all evil~ humm…

I am not blaming Sony. I am blaming Capcom.
I don’t think guest chars are wasted space…
I do think console exclusive guest chars are wasted space.

And aside from a special payment, there is no reason characters like Megaman and Pacman should be console exclusive.
Like I said: Cats and Cole? Sure, mascot and PS3 exclusive game character.

Megaman and Pacman are known by everyone out there, restricting them to one console is just retarded, I’m sorry.

i dont honestly if anything its because its on the vita, to help boost sales. i guess 8wayrun has made me more relaxed about these kinds of things but anyways…it maybe because they plan to incorperate some kind of minigame to the vita version with those two, who knows…i just know they are there…exclusive for whatever reason, and they wont be on 360…thats pretty much it…

The inclusion of “NES Box Art” Megaman is quite backhanded of Capcom to do to their customer base. Its a gift, with a joke, and the joke is on you with no chaser.

His inclusion was done with the intent to shock & disappoint a good number of ppl that line their pockets.

No one here has NES Box Art Megaman as their 1st, 2nd, or even 3rd choice as sole representation of the Megaman franchise. “Captain N” Megaman has more respect than the one Capcom chose for SFxT. When someone consistently jerks your chain, they do not respect you as much as u respect them.

#myRant

Honestly I don’t understand some of the choices that Capcom is making with the characters. Lupinko’s leaked list has all but been officially confirmed (the guy called out Pacman and BBA Megaman weeks ago and even specified that Pacman would be riding a mokujin like Tron.)

Not only is Capcom leaving out two of the most loudly requested characters on the street fighter side (Karin and R. Mika. Neither of which I PERSONALLY care if make it in, but A LOT of people have requested it.) and choosing to only put in 4 characters that weren’t already in street fighter 4 (Hugo, Poison, Rolento, and Elena)

But they are leaving out two of Tekkens staple characters that are among the most consistently appearing in the series. Lei Wulong has appeared in every Tekken game except for Tekken 1, and Wang Jinrei (a Tekken 1 original character) has appeared in all Tekken games except Tekken 2 and Tekken 3. Neither of these characters have particularly similar movesets to other characters (especially Lei who plays extremely unorthodox) and yet Capcom is choosing to not put them in.

Leaving Lei Wulong out is like leaving out Guile. Not THE most important character in series by any means, but a recognizable staple character in the franchise.

I agree with vyomesh. Why cant pac and mega be on the console versions of the game?

Also boxart megaman is ridiculous and I am 100% convinced Capcom no longer likes megaman.

I think this hobo version of Mega Man is hilarious and fits the world of the game better. You should team him with Rufus, that would be funny as shit. I’m so happy Capcom did a Roger Federer backhand slap to those whining Megaman fans! This’ll teach them!!

I can agree upon the fact that MM and Pacman shouldn’t be PS3 only exclusive. But, I’m sorry, if Microsoft isn’t willing to give exclusive characters at all (see Master Chief for example) for 360 users, that shouldn’t be a reason to flame Sony about it. Instead, Microsoft should give a fuck about FGs and do something similar. And the way that people make it seem is as if MM and Pacman are top tier characters in this title. Isn’t the game we’re talking about SFxT? Down the line, they’re only extra’s. Yes, I play PS3, yet I’m only worried about the default roster of this game.

Again: Cats and Cole
That’s what Sony should have gotten exclusive. There is simply no good reason aside from $$$ that BBA Megaman and Pacman are in the Sony versions. They have jack fucking shit to do with goddamn Sony.

This.

This is the only thing that bothers me. One person goes down and the other one just stands there? Dumb. If it were the case that Pandora just killed it’s own user after the time ran out, and the other person would have to finish the fight, that would take care of how lame Pandora is, and how stupid the 1 down = KO mechanic is.

I can’t believe this game already made it into Evo. The more I see it I can’t help but be in awe of this decision. This is looking to be more and more like Capcom’s equivalent of a party game, and it still makes it in. No wonder Capcom doesn’t make a “hardcore” fighting game… they don’t need to.

This looks like it’ll make for a fun PS Vita game, though.

If I run into any Cats online I’m going to rage and send you hate mail until you block me:D

Okay, it seems this is how your opinions work.
Things that I personally don’t want, but other do = Wastes
Things that I personally want, but others don’t = Useful

Anywho, the only thing I don’t like about this game is that it feels like they are doing a little too much.

alls I think they needed to do was run it like SF4 series but with tag and tag team ultras and the guest characters, thats all they had to do but they wanted to add other things that I feel are kind of questionable and sort of unneeded.

There’s one thing I’m sure of: MM and Pacman started (yet) another console war.

Good thing I know the truth: PS3 and 360 both suck. PC Master Race.

The fact that Elena (if rumors are to be believed) and Rolento are in this game makes me want to give it a shot, as they are definitely my two favorite SF characters (wish Eagle could have made it too, but I’ll deal). However, I’m definitely going to play a friend’s copy before I blow my cash on it.

My main problem with the game is that there’s way too many mechanics going into this game. The more moving parts in a machine, the more likely it is to malfunction. This game is becoming needlessly complex, and to be completely honest, I don’t have faith that Ono can handle this much all at once. Hell, SF4 was a relatively simple game and, if you ask me, he fucked even that up.

Moreover, the Gems thing just seems like yet another of Capcom’s shady DLC schemes. I’ve heard people point out that there are plenty of games that use microtransactions to change from ‘boosts’, but those games are usually free-to-play. I could be wrong, but it seems like Capcom is expecting us to drop $60 up front and then continue to feed them cash for gems as the game goes on.

Aside from that, the aesthetics of the game also are not to my liking at all. The palette especially looks ugly to me, but there’s plenty of character designs that are questionable as well.
