The Official Ranting Thread

I’m assuming that’s on PC because the only time I get those kinds of teleports is if I play vs people from Brazil, Japan or one of those countries with a weird flag. But vs americans and most of europe I get virtually no lag. Sometimes a bit of input delay but nothing that makes it unplayable like that.

Yes but what you see is after I tuned the video settings down. Before that, you were practically flying all over my screen lol. But good games nonetheless. You have improved a lot since our first meeting.

Yep it’s the PC version, but locations are a funny thing… I’m in Asia and I’ve played with people from far across the globe and I don’t get any teleports (very rare though, only remember 1 from Russia and 1 from the US, other places are unbearable). Maybe some input delay at the beginning of the match but it goes away in seconds. Then I play with people from Southeast Asia and the teleports start kicking in. I usually get good connections with Japan, Korea, Taiwan and China though. That said, I did not factor in the possibility that these people may see me teleporting.

So a couple of things…

This is my primary problem with playing on PC online right now, and why I don’t like going through the trouble of booting my Macbook up in XP - I get few matches, and the ones I do are usually with people on a whole other continent, with that kind of teleporting. Some days I can deal with it, some I can’t.

That said, when I had a really shitty ISP (and a torrent-happy roommate) at my old apartment, I had this same issue when trying to play 3rd Strike on XBLA. It was the connection though, for sure.

I may trouble myself to just go wired on my laptop to try and play on PC again, but that teleport stuff is extremely frustrating. It honestly wasn’t that bad at first, but I also think there were more people in the “same region” playing when I first started on PC. Now I get maybe two or three of the same people the few times I’ve searched, and we’ve probably all got bad connections (I won’t deny it could be on my end).

Ugh. Either way, I’m pretty much 360 dedicated right now until the next patch, to see if that improves things. /rant

I’m on a roll now, two rants in one morning!

You show 'em, Turbo. Keep their hands off your waifu! ^^

Bah, college is keeping me from playing anything. Fuck you homework. I’m pretty much gonna spend any game time I can find on improving my main teams, was gonna try out a few new characters, but I don’t have the time :frowning:

Agreed. Chun-Li is very very (did I say very enough times?) good in SFxT, but not broken. IMHO, she has the best buttons/pokes in the game by far.

And my rant for the day:

I love it when I play against a Guile x Sim team that plays keep away for the entire match. I manage to chase them down with 10 seconds left on the clock and barely edge out the win - we both have health remaining cause like I said, he’s been playing keep away for the entire match.

And then I get a message from him with “You’re a time out fag.” -.-

I mentioned similar experiences earlier. With me though it’s always Akumas who take their ball and hurricane kick back to their home planet. Then when they realize they don’t have a life lead and they’ve wasted the whole round, I get hatemail for blocking. Once one with AUTOBLOCK who ran the whole round sent me a time out fag message but I’m sure that *had *to have been trolling. I mean…didn’t it?

Nobody uses Chun because a lot of her key moves aren’t as good as they were in SF4. I got too use to charging her attacks and mashing for her lightning legs. Granted not having to charge her projectile is a plus for me. Her jumping target combo can be off because of the jump arcs in this game and her go to st.hp AA which was hella good in SF4 can be hit or miss(Although she has another good AA to replace that), she also had that good cr.mp move that was good in AE where it would make her hitbox weird and hit opponents that jumped in(Wish that was in this game). The footsie game is still intact though, I doubt anybody rivals Chun in that besides Elena with her cr.lk. Unlike other people I’ve adapted though so I can see myself playing her again because I’ve long grown past my playing it like SF4 phase.

That cr. mp is still good, it even dodges fireballs.

I could strangle her after that stupid “Hihi I did it :D” win-quote. FFfffffff…

You know what? New project for me this week. Learning Chun starting tonight, put it off long enough. Haven’t played her since 3s, 'bout time I tried again earnestly.

Plus it’ll help me in the matchup. Always preached about learning characters you hate playing against to learn the match better, but realized how true that was after picking up Law, who I not only love to play as now, but can now deal with a lot better.

Well that’s pretty useful, I feel ashamed I’m just figuring that out.
Then again I don’t face many Chuns so I would’ve never known. It’s still crap on jump ins though. Had it still had the same properties from SF4, Chun would’ve been God Tier because you could combo after it unlike in SF4 and it would serve as another odd yet very viable AA option. Chun would own SFxT. I didn’t give her a fair shake from the get go though…I BETRAYED YOU CHUN!!! FORGIVE ME!!!

A few things that tick me off
One, seeing Jin and kaz as a team. They’re so annoying to fight ><
two, people counter picking me with guile on point…wtf gives?
three, people who mash jab, especially on wake up. OOOH I’M SO GLAD LAUNCHER MESSES THAT UP!
four, don’t cry to me about how lili raped your whole team…uh block maybe? that is all tbh.

this so much. if this game would just recognize that i pushed a button it would be a different game. some matches are me just standing there because i can’t even move. (not my stick, works fine offline)

the RAGE is taking meee…
and making me play more cod.

i know im not that good but im also not that bad. if capcom wants me to play more cod than just make a cod game already. of course gief would still be hosed in a fps as well.

Story of my life, man. Story of my life.

That and pretty much people just jumping plain at me whilst I’m Lili and them losing 300+ damage for doing so. I think it’s maybe due to the healthbars and how they can be a little bit misleading at times.

For instance a 500 damage combo on a 1000 health character doesn’t look like they’ve lost even half of their health. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me lol.

Bwahaha, it’s more fun when you’re facing Akuma; the runaway type (bonus points for autoblock gems). You never know where he actually is to try and stop his zoning. <3

Okay, I hate that I spent about an hour and a half yesterday in Endless Lobbies and I only played about MAYBE 12 games. I’m only a B+ Rank (Not even that good at that) and people either kick me because of my Rank, Kick me after one fight, beat me then kick me or come in my lobby and leave. After awhile, I thought it was my internet and I sent a few messages to people and asked if my connection was bad? They all said no, and I am like well why can’t we play, and they respond with answers like: (O you use Zangief, you garbage Noob or I don’t like the characters you use) or petty shit like that. Yea I use Gief, I mained him and Rose in SSF4 and I love the fact that he is good in this game, but also very fun to use. I don’t feel I am a noob gief, fishing for ABC Launch combos 100% of the time. I actually do EX green hand combos and I actually do SPD’s…lol! My point character is Abel. Fucking ABEL! I just started using him about a month ago after I got sick of using Kaz and Julia. I’m still learning the character, people are bitches I swear.

Also, I found one A ranked player and was so excited to fight him with my new team and you know what happen? “The battle has been canceled” -_- Sunavabitch!

Zangief is really stronger in cross-over games as he only has to do the 360 motion once to pull off a super. Zangief is an OK character for me despite of that. The only frustrating character I ever faced in this game is Hugo even with the Anti-Fraud Hugo tutorial. It seems to be that you just need to learn a few combos and a single strategy (either spam splash or ABC combos with your point character) in order to win.

Yea endless is only good if you know the people playing in the lobby. If I join a random lobby, I usually beat them all then get kicked. And I understand that because it’s boring to just sit and wait. The best thing to do, is to make a lobby and invite players you know and which are about your skill level, or join somebody you know. And from my experience, 3 spots in the lobby is enough (But I might have too little patience).
