Trying out my first fightstick in a lobby that I named “practice area” and getting my butt wooped by DPers
but the worst part is when some guy comes in, wins, then messages me saying “lol gg, try trial”
Dang, fought two consecutive autoblockers on GFWL. Playing them is so frustrating especially if there is lag in the mix.

Quick Rant:
Why paid DLC gems? Why? Yeah, it’s old news, but I was painfully reminded of it when I got back into the game. Sure, they’re cheap, but just the thought that you’re likely paying to get better gems over the free ones seems just so wrong. Has there been any tournaments sporting gems so far, and if so, what have been the rules?
I really want the damage boost on Super Arts gem but if I buy it, I’m essentially supporting the ‘pay to win’ ethos. Fuck that noise.
I’ve pretty much ignored the paid gems myself - all I buy are costumes and of course, the characters.
As far as tourneys go, I’m actually not sure but I’d imagine the Capcom tourney would have them all available.
I dont mind if someone buys DLC gems for some extra damage, etc. Because in the end, im the one who is responsible do i block or not and take the damage.
I dont wanna play with Russians anymore. They may have white or yellow bars, in the end 90%+ are lagging.
I kicked a 17k BP-player after one match.
he: "why the f* did you kick me?!"
Me: "assist gems…"
he: "lol, noob…"
I actually laughed at this but raged inside a little
Played a BLR-player on PC: Status bar was full. “Ok, seems fine…” lagged so hard during the match. PC’s netcode is still shit… >:-(
Is it me, or do ALL people from Spain and Italy lag horribly?
I’ve never ever had a decent connection with these ppl, maybe it’s the garlic
/endrant
Crossup into launch combos is still my number one gripe with this game.
Over DP tags and backdashes?
At the end of August there will be the 2012 Moscow Fighting Arena (Sort of like a Russian Evo) and they’re allowing the default boost gems. The only banned gems are Auto-Block, Auto-Tech and all the DLC Boost/Assist Gems.
I am loving that more and more tournaments are allowing gems. And when Capcom is even allowing DLC gems at their tournaments, it’s getting interesting IMO! I will learn my gem combinations by heart before going to London, and make anyone arrogant enough to fight me with no gems equipped regret it! And no, I will not “fight like a gentleman” if being asked! Caaaaaar!
Pick up Dudley and you can always fight like a gentleman.
I don’t know what to do against Christie, She has this silly little Tekken string that’s a true blockstring until the last hit. The hit doesn’t combo, but it’s an overhead, wallbounce move that’s safe on block, even to 3 frame reversals. I was getting counter hit trying to punish it.
This dude just kept jumping in and doing this and I had to take it. I was Law, I had no meter for reversals and lol anti airs.
The only time I actually hit him was with an EX fury fist rush combo and I still lost.
He had his Mic on and said something like, “Next time, fight back.”
It helps if you go into training mode and try the characters out. That string you’re talking about is + on block for the overhead, but the low is - on block and hit.
I tried every character, I knew she had that string and that the overhead was safe. I didn’t know it was plus on block though, so thanks for telling me that.
My problem was I didn’t know what to do against it, especially as Law. Am I just forced to backdash out every time she does it? Or just sit there and block so that she can do it again? I need a pointer or two.
Why is Gief’s lariat so much harder to deal with in this game than in SF4??
