The Official Qanba Fightstick Thread (New products Coming)

Wow that sure is a simple case! All you did was remove the bottom panel right? and it exposed everything? Really clean on the inside, I’m impressed! Being able to play on Xbox360 and PS3 is something I’ve been waiting for a long time

Any feedback on the stick? No regrets from the Qanba4 over the Madcatz TE?

From the looks of the innards, this is one well-designed and well-thought of piece of stick. Everything is modular; parts can be easily removed and re-connected for maintenance and modding. Not to mention the Sanwa stick and buttons, I’d say this is one hot arcade stick

Ok, done a bit of reading here and elsewhere and ive decided i really want to get one of these sticks, i live between the uk/france where can i order at a reasonable price ! Need to get this sorted in the next few weeks tho as its a present for my lil bro.

Edit: just seen yamato has ordered a batch of these and selling them on his site dans cave ill get in contact and see whats up.

Stick looks really nice, now I gotta decide to dual mod my old TE or just but a qanba! hmmmm…

Picked up my Q4 today from canadianjoysticks.com (hell yeah local seller), pretty amazing stick. Comes with a cloth, two button plugs, earphone/microphone (the same thing that comes with an iPhone4) and chinese instruction booklet.

Mine had an issue out the box where the home button’s wire wasn’t properly set in the connector for the circuit board, but I fixed it while doing a button swap.

Stock buttons are Sanwa snap-ins; However, the 24mm button is of an unknown brand to me and feels cheap compared to a normal 24mm Sanwa button.

The screws for the top panel were a bit annoying to remove, because under each little sticker (there are six) is about a 1mm thick layer of soft glue that you have to pry and pick out of the hole to get at the screw itself. This might’ve been the sticker just separating itself from its sticky counterpart, so your mileage may vary.

So is the only way to get inside is by removing the top panel, or can you also unscrew it from the bottom without having to remove the stickers from the top panel?

thanks for the clarification, but please, in the future do not hesitate to communicate about such “extra order”
Got them this evening, and i must say i’m pretty impressed with the stuff, great work.
i’ll order another batch next week  with clear plexi this time

Moreover, for european customers, i made some change on the website, you can now order outside France and get a quote in the basket
8 Qanbas left for the 1st batch, thank you.

You can simply remove the base plate.

There’s not much reason to remove the top panel screws unless wanting to change the artwork.

hey Yamato il sont arrivee hier soir? lol cest bon sa!!!
And good to see you got your website working now! squish those damn bugs!!! :annoy:
Are you going to place another order for the Q4’s with clear plexi soon? I might wait till then if its not going to be long…

yes, by the end of the month, they won’t be available sooner, 6 left on this batch  so i guess you can wait for the clean one
Database bug was a pain in the ass, thank you for your help heh, now everyone in Europe can order !

Thinking of buying a Qanba Q4. Anyone used anything from them? How does it compare to a Madcatz TE, as far as quality goes?

As long as its not longer than a month!
And glad the payment problem is fixed, i had to tell you because i hate to see a good guy loosing business because of a bug (punaise?)
Yes now everyone else can get one in europe! But hopefully you wont forget to hook me up on the next batch! Ill probably put a deposit on it next week if you need me too, just let me know.
Thanks to you also, as far as i know the only guy bringing this awesome stick to europe for us

So, the 24mm button (Start) is not sanwa?

I can’t identify the button’s origins, but here’s a pic of the button.

And this is what the switch looks like.

All I can really tell you is that it’s very clicky and feels cheap in comparison to a Sanwa.

I’m VERY excited about getting my QRAF4

i like the q3’s design a lot better… is it possible to have it xbox360/ps3 compatable

Why’s the start button different? The rest are Sanwa parts right?

Hey syn13, I notice the modular cable they have for the Q3 wireless. Is it possible to use the external USB jack similar to a Neutrik if I change the PCB inside to another custom PCB (have PS360 here) or is it attached along with Qanba’s PCB?

No clue why they went with a different start button, but yes, all of the other buttons and the stick are Sanwa. Also notable is that any Sanwa snap-in replacements will need to have the little sections around the button filed down (there’s a word for these things, I forgot what it is).
