The Official PS3 thread

Why do people care about famitsu? Seriously, WHY?

Cop guy is my fave Yakuza 4 character from the demo. Easy-mode sabaki (that shit will be so sick if it has more follow-ups) & in one of his Heat moves he takes down & handcuffs the guy

Just check out newegg or amazon for HDD. Seagate and Western Digital HDD are what most people buy. Just check for what ZeonTheUnborn just stated.

I’m a nice guy. Either that or I just happened to have these book marked.

this one is currently unavailable but it was like 50 for a 250 gig

They USED to be really picky on game reviews. They assigned very few perfect scores, though lately, they hand them out like candy.

Musou: HnK looks awesome, to say the least. They’ve graphically improved the Musou engine dramatically.

Though, more than likely it won’t be coming to the U.S…

Posting to subscribe.

These are great:

Ok. Bringing up (what is probably) an age old question…

Why is it so important (or wanted) that a PS3 has BC? I’ve always read about people saying to pay the $150 it costs to send off a 60g PS3 to get repaired, but why?

I have a 60g, and do love that it does BC, but I have always had the thought in the back of my head that if it does go out, I’ll just get a slim and buy a PS2 for my PS2 games. I don’t use any of the memory card slots, so that seems null and void to me.

I know this video is old, but does it have any truth to it in today’s age?

If that video holds any truth still, it seems to be better off with a PS2 anyhow. Or is/was it just certain games that do/did this?

That video is from 2006. I haven’t had a PS3 for that long so I wouldn’t know, but isn’t it possible that the PS2 emulation was improved since that video was made? PS2 games look fine to me on my PS3. Persona 4 looks noticeably better on the PS3 than on the PS2. But then again, I don’t have component cables for my PS2, so maybe that’s why?

Ok. My Google-fu was weak this morning, and I was searching for the wrong info.

So basically the PS3 upscaling using an HDMI cable makes it worth it for the 60g hardware PS2, right?

EDIT: Warhawk is also on disc.

Yeah I found him to be the most interesting. I think the most brutal heat attack is with the pumped up dude. You punch then hold kick and release, after the opponent bounces of the ground, perform the heat attack. Also with the kick based character he actually has a running heat attack, very stylish.

first of thanx a lot bastos, you tha man. finally i can sgtart playing the yakuza demo again, this time with skipp obviously.

on the gemes note, skipp resconance of fate like the plague, same for batman aa, shit sucks balls. most people ive met hated the games, as do i. only a select few dudes liked it, unless we talkin bout this site where most did seem to like it for whatever fucked up reason there was.

I can’t think of 5 people who have said Batman AA was a bad game. The only people that did were people that are not fans of that type of game. (action/stealth) Even then, they simply said that the game was “not for them”, and not something as ridiculous as saying that it is a bad game.

Dont forget Silent Hill for PSX classics.

Added both, good games indeed.

Speaking of Warhawk, does the PS3 remix get a lot of play online?

I’m mostly going to be buying shooters.

So Crash Team Racing isn’t on US PSN? You can get it from EU PSN if anyone wants.

Anyways I got dat Yakuza 3, n*ggas! Came with the OST and a code for extra content…which I need to beat the game first to access ^_^; BTW this being the case, can I beat the game on another account but use another account in the same PS3 to activate the code?
Won’t be playing it til I beat FF13 though, which should be a week from now.
