im still perplexed as to the reason you have not played demons souls yet.
additionally did you read his whole review, because i think he wrapped his head around it pretty good, and states pretty clearly what sort of people would like this game the most and who it is aimed at.

sooo, anybody got the game already? im thinking bout buying it tnight after i get one of those 20 cards again.
I don’t order from JP so if anything I will get it 100% today when it comes on the US PSN store.
I have 142 games in my back log, not including the multiples of games on compilation discs, and after next week most of my time will be on SSF4 anyway. I also got turned away from DS because it isn’t first person
That isn’t being a good reviewer. You review the game based on the game, period. Only the lazy make allowances for audience. When Roger Ebert reviews a movie, he does so on the movie’s merits. He doesn’t say “well I didn’t like it, but your kids may love it.” The reviewer talked about “nostalgic” gamers, but I’m not talking about nostalgia, I’m talking about fun and replayability now.
Hidden features of 3.30 FW
Notable is PC Remote Play and Flash update to the browser.
Very interesting. I wonder what system they plan on using to keep it exclusive to Vaio machines.
They’re doing a pretty good job of integrating their systems. I quite like the idea behind it. It ends up being beneficial to having them all, without really limiting the functionality if you only have one component. (E.G., GBA/Gamecube and FF Crystal Chronicles multiplayer is what comes to mind when I say that)
Future Vaios?
Fuck that, I had 2 before a desktop and 1 laptop. They were both great machines, but way over priced compared to what you can buy now.
I built a gaming PC last year and don’t plan on buying another laptop, unless I decide to get a Mac.
So I guess I won’t be able to use this feature.
I wonder if the flash update means Hulu will work again?
Hulu has purposefully blocked PS3s from accessing its content.
The PC Remote Play will probably be implemented through Media Go software.
well i didnt take his review as offensive as you did, even thought i completely agree with what you are saying in regards to new gen shit. he talks about what makes it fun the replaybility of the game as well. i think videogames are slightly different than movies when it comes to reviewing. they have more of a target demographic that needs to be addressed. like demons souls, that is a pretty specific audience the game was targeting, and all reviewers addressed this but it still received good ratings based on the quality of the game. it seemed like the guy was doing the same thing. i dont think he rated it the way he did because it was for a specific audience, it seems like that is what he generally valued the game at regardless.

When does PSN usually update? I heard the Lost Planet 2 multiplayer demo comes out today but i still dont see it ;(
actually, the ps3 blocked content from hulu. hulu is a big competitor to the ps3 video store, considering it was free with decent quality.
if anything i’d be looking forward to hulu’s new monthly charged based business strategy to get hulu on the ps3. i’m sure if hulu is trying to make money off of hulu, they’ll be trying to get this on every possible platform as humanly possible. but that would mean sony striking a deal with hulu to directly compete with the ps store on their own system…
Oh great, another PS3 Update . . . . . 3.30
Looks like these are the additions
Store’s updated. Downloading After Burner & Uncharted add-on now. But gotta run off to work in a few, so won’t be able to play 'em for like 9 hours
Question on importing games from Japan
Now, the new Fist of the North Star game, known in Japan as Hokuto No Ken came out recently. Would I have to make a japanese PSN to play japanese games like Hokuto Musou on my PS3 Slim american model? I already know the system is region free.
No you can play the game under your NA/Europe/etc profile, and it will also reflect any trophies you earn.
Creating a Japan ID would only be neccessary if you wanted to download anything from the Japanese PS Store for your copy (like the costumes DLC).
[citation needed]
This is the first that I’ve heard that. Do you have a source for this information? (Not disputing, just curious where you saw it, as everything that I’ve found has been the opposite.)
This new update doesn’t seem to be available online except by direct ps3 download (the absolutely slowest method)…I don’t trust this.
PSN has a great update today. I just updated my slim PS3, with no problems. (Took about 10 minutes)
So many good things to download this week. I’m seriously buying all of the games that they put out, that’s like $40 off the bat lol.
People are saying some shit about how this update changed the EULA to say that they can change features on the PS3. It’s kinda like, okay, so now their EULA is like every other one on the face of the planet?
I’ll never understand why people get all up in arms about shit that has been happening for years, and will happen for years to come. I mean, do they think they have any say at all with what the Wii adds or removes from their system? Or their installation of Windows/OSX/*nix?
Armchair warriors get up in arms over anything.
