I did not buy those Capcom games that had that stupid DRM on principal alone. Even though I am always connected, I don’t like the idea of not being able to play if my internet is not working.
I went to gamestop today and was talking to an employee about the PS3. They said they have received more PS3 trade ins in two weeks than they have in a year. Seriously, PSN goes down and you are going to just get rid of it. At least I’d keep it because its one of the best Blu Ray players on the market. Things that make you go . . . Hmmmmmmmm
lol that’s what happens when games don’t have any replay value beyond multiplayer… I wish game developers realized that online play does not equal replay value… matter in fact, I wish some games cut out online in favor of focusing on the single player aspect of the game…
That’s why I’m not interested in games like Call of Duty and shit like that… Gamestop is probably giving them shitty returns on their games and consoles…
Hey, more for me to buy for cheapshrugs…

Ooohh time to snag a new one, hopefully they have them a lot prices. Mine still work bt is slowly dying, BD drive won’t spit out discs and the HDMI slot died.
I need to get on that too. Thankfully, PSN’s proposed return to online glory (May 31) fits right in my payday. time to get dat 250GB.

People are stupid. I mean seriously trading in your PS3 because of the PSN outage…smh.
You have a computer thats hooked up to the internet…come on man.
It is stupid, but I’d wager a good percentage of those people disliked PSN anyway and were on their last nerve before the outage.
I doubt it. Most gamers these days are fucking retarded since all they know is CoD and Madden.
I don’t. I tried to play sc2 single player while my net was out. I figured it wouldnt bother to ask me to sign in for single player or at least let me say i was who i was without a net connection That shit didn’t happen. It’s ridiculous I have to sign in to a network to play a game offline.

Are you telling me that they now force you to be online even when playing sp?
News to me.
Not good news.

Actually, I think for most everyone multiplayer is THE reason they keep playing games. While I agree that developers should look into ways to bring replay value back to single player experiences, there really isn’t anything quite like playing games with friends. If anything, I wish there were more games with online co-op. Reminds me of back in the day with arcades. It’s always more fun with friends.

Really?
I rather liked the days back when games were crafted with the intent to make them a quality experience period, regardless of whether or not the second player pad was plugged in or not.

I pirate what I can’t afford, I pay for stuff as much as I can, whenever possible I try and buy the things I’ve pirated that I like. This situation is a very weird crux because I would like to give them money for using GGPO, play Final Fight and try Magic Sword (Don’t think i’ve ever played it) but what they did is fucking retarded.
I’ve noticed companies do this a lot: they make decisions that, even though you want to give them money, force to give them the finger instead. Blows my mind the silly shit companies do. Kinda like paying to unlock things inside the game; I understand the reasons to do it this way but its so ridiculous that I bought content but I have to pay extra for what’s already there. Its like if you bought a CD but charged you extra for the hidden song they included (this one is debatable but fuck it, I vote with my money).
Depends on the genre, but yeah. Some of the greatest games ever in a lot of genres had multiplayer element.
Now, just to be clear, I still play quite a few single player games but I always find multiplayer as something that will make me come back. Just this gen single player games with multiplayer support are what have kept me playing. Hell I might be one of the only people who played Starcraft for the story. Rainbow six Vegas and red dead redemption have been awesome experiences, and possibly my favorite games this generation just because I could do fun shit with friends that didn’t involve a death match. I’m waiting on the old republic so I can finally play as a Jedi with friends.

When it comes to multi-player stuff I’d rather just organize gatherings. It’s a lot more fun that way. To me anyways.
I enjoy the interaction. When I play online its just…meh, I don’t care. Even if its with friends.
Truth be told, BNET is no better than PSN.
