Lament of Innocence EASILY shits on both of them…EASILY.
Actually, 90% of anything shits on them. Those games are horrible.

The game overall is good.
Camera is terrible, also the dumb shit it puts you in and lets you fail first before telling you what to do.
“Gabriel, catch the rock and throw it back”
I died 15-20 on that one level where you first meet the girl and have to follow her, you rappel down the inside of the structure, when you get to the bottom you see the bridge behind you. I did not know you had to press square, I figured I pressed every button already.
The only part that made me go “wuhhh?!” for a little bit was in the clock tower. You have to square push off of the wall multiple times to get the range you need in a certain area.
The rock was glowing white, man. But yeah, I know what you mean.
Actually where I was, the camera didn’t show shit but my ass. When the level started I immediately ran to the left looking for something that obviously wasn’t there and the camera never got back into a good position until I got hit.
The game is a good game, but they chose some bad design elements. If you need to explore, you need to be able to look around for openings.
Holy shit. Tell me you’re joking. I didn’t die at all. I was a bit confused because I thought I had to follow the girl exactly where she went.
As for throwing the rock back, I had more trouble getting the rock to hit rather than catching it. But yeah they didn’t say anything for a while. I was running circles for a good minute before the girl said throw the rock back. Before that I was all “WTF am I supposed to do here?”
I forgot which stage it was, but to end it you had to grapple up. The angle combined with the lightning from the being daylight made it impossible to see the blue spark. I literally went “How the hell are you supposed to see that?” I missed a health gem in the troll swamp stage. No such luck finding it. Hate that stage.
It is a good game though.
for one, it’s an opinion which means it’s personal which also means from my POV they game wasn’t even “fun”.
What do you mean by good? Does that mean everyone should buy this game DAY 1? Or does it mean lower your expectations and wait till the game price drops a bit?
IMO, this was a really bad God of War/Lord of the Rings/Avatar/Full Retard game. the swamp and first golem/titan was one thing then the bitch that would not shut the hell up about the crystal was another, but the 2nd golem/titan boss fight was the last straw.
*Ok, I’m sitting here. that boss is just sitting there with rocks and shit. “Don’t get too close!” Why the fuck not? Whatever.
runs in circles while dodging a few rocks
I’m waiting! “you shouldn’t get too close to the titan!” Shut up, bitch!
after 3 minutes, randomly runs to the the edge of the level
“look for the rocks! the titan is going to through a fucking boulder at you. You need to catch it!” Catch it?! with what? my face?!
waits for it catches falls out the air even though I was moving the L3 stick Okaaaayyyyy…
rinse. repeat. fail Ughhh…
rinse. repeat. fail X3
turns game off, offers to sell the game to friends on FB for $30*
…ummm what?
ya, honestly it just sounds like you are blaming the game for your lack of skill.

VGs have had a history of very boring and bland giant enemies boss fights. Played NG Sigma II? All the giant boss fights sucked. The problem is that these bosses are just too big. The Titans can slay armies. So they come off as serious badass bosses but when you fight one what happens? The boss is too damn big. They end up being limited in capabilities. So the fight is boring as hell. You never “fight” the Titans. And that’s the problem. You don’t really fight them. My thoughts upon slaying the rock titan were “Wow. YOU slayed armies? How? They didn’t have a long ranged weapons? Did you lame them out to defeat?” The other enemies come after you, they fight you. These bosses are so massive to present their “epicness” that it does more harm than good.
Developers need to lay off making these bosses so big. They just end up being all flash and no substance. The other boss fights are more enjoyable because you really fight. Like the Lycan LoS boss. I enjoyed that fight. Lackluster Titan fights are no reason to dismiss the game though.
THe Titans do suck but there are only 3 of them in a 20+ hour long game. Cornel, Carmilla, Olrox, Brauner, these are all incredibly awesome ass boss fights not to mention and the really great fight sets leading up to them. THe Combat in this game is really good. It has issues yes but hell Uncharted 1 had issues and it’s still a good game.
As for “what does good mean?” WTF do you think it means? It means the games good. Is is great? No. Fantastic? No. If it where those things those words would have been used. Its a good game meaning at some point in time you should get it and play it. Right now? Sure. Down the road? Sure. Whatever just eventually play it. It’s a good game.
Holy shit, can’t believe I missed this during E3:

Personally I enjoyed the Metroidvania games a lot more, but Lords of Shadow wasn’t bad at all.
Yeah I might agree with you on this because I had no trouble rotating the Left stick to throw the rock back. The 2nd Titan fight isn’t even that hard, heck it was a lot easier IMO than the Frost Titan
@Radiantsilvergun- IMO, good is subjective- It’s if you enjoy the game that really counts.
I wished I remember there names, otherwise I’d post them up =/
Thanks JGreen for the save, lol.
*I think he’s talking about Alundra and Arc the Lad. *
Ahh that’s a shame, RE2 is one of my favorite games. Would like to see them redone better.
It’s pretty much the same for any PS1 games you use on-disc, or from the Playstation Store.
AND Nov 30th is the RUMORED release date for Gran Turismo 5.
Please confirm this SONY!
No you enjoying it is whats subjective. It being good or not is objective. There are defenite, isolatable reasons for why something works and why something doesn’t. It’s wether or not you enjoy these elements or not (Or if there are bad elements, if they are bad enough to outweigh the good elements) that are subjective.
Yea I know you do but for me SOTN and COM where enough. None of the ones after that really manage to better then either of those two and some of them manage to far far worse and none of the ones Iga made manaaged to do better then SOTN in the over all long run anyway. Almost all of them have the same glaring, annoying flaws and it just gound on my nerves in the worst way.
I leave OoE out of this cuz I hear its pretty different and not really of the same ole Metroidvania cloth in general. I hear it’s pretty damn good from a friend of mine who knows first hand my massive dislike for those recent Vania games.
About to finally jump into Resonance of Fate. Gonna be a sick experience.]
I also wanna buy that new naruto game. While I couldn’t care less for naruto, the game (demo) is fun and addictive as fuck. Wanna buy the game just for the gameplay. How much is it retailing at in US? 60 bones?
Yeah, it’s $60 right now. But I agree with you. Game is hella fun. I had no idea what I was doing during the demo; was just pressing any button I could. Did some pretty cool things, tho. I might have to get that–but I’m also considering Dragon Ball Raging Blast 2.
Gonna have to wait til payday to cop it then.
Yuna, I sent you an invite on PSN. Let’s roll up on some fools in Uncharted 2 sometime. I tried adding Rhio the 1st or 2nd time I ran into him online in U2, but either his list was at max or he didn’t accept dat invite ().
