If it helps any, I always liked Vandal Hearts more, which always got me a lot of flak.
I’m just a sucker for SRPGs/TRPGs, though. I’ll play almost anything in the genre.
I liked Tactics Ogres more than FFT, and FFT were supposed to be the better game…(from the same creator but not exactly same team I guess??)
Both are good games.

I kid. Anyhow, FFT PSP is the better game overall, but to say better “in every conceivable way” is complete BS, because PSX FFT didn’t have slowdown to high hell whenever magic/skills were cast. Other than that blatant downside (and that they fixed the sword dupe that made Samurai godlike lol) PSP one is a lot better. One thing about PSP version though…DO NOT get a Dark Knight if you want the game to retain the same level of challenge. Not even one. They make Orlandu look like a Chemist (with a dagger).
I forgot all about spell animation slowdown.
I said fuck it all and got a full team of Dark Knights. Best playthru ever 
Ramza as DK was the most broken shit ever. He hits 600+ with almost everything, could heal himself with said 600+ HP attacks, had Haste because of Excal, built in buffs due to Squire, and a 1% of being hit with attacks due to the aforementioned buffs in conjunction with Shirahadori (Blade Grasp). Oh, and throw on Teleport/Move + 3 for good measure.
I seriously went and fought the last levels (including Hashmal and Altima) with JUST Ramza, and beat her entire ass all over the map.
That way you won’t have people bitchin and moanin over it.
If it’s any consolation; I really don’t care.
01/2011: Mass Effect 2
Mass Effect 2 is being released on PS3 in January.
This was just announced at Gamescom 2010.

Was Mass Effect 1 ever released for PS3?
Glad to finally have a chance to try out the Mass Effect series… but won’t the experience be a little dampened without the continuity from ME1? I thought carrying your story over from ME1 to ME2 was part of what made ME2 so great.
However, since ME1 was published by Microsoft Game Studios I guess that means we can’t get it? I hope Bioware has some sort of solution to this, maybe including some sort of prologue where we’re allowed to choose which direction we want to go in for the game?
Nope, and apparently 360 has a permanent “exclusivity” agreement on that. I use the term exclusivity loosely, because it is also available on PC.
It was a good game though. Worth playing for sure. I still haven’t played part 2, but will pick it up when it drops for dat triple.
The first Mass Effect isn’t completely necessary, but a few of the choices you make in the first game do have some big consequences in the second game. That being said, I have a few friends who have been wanting to play the Mass Effect series but haven’t yet because they mostly game on their PS3s, so they’re about to go bananas when they hear of this.
Edit: a possible workaround for not playing the first game would be if Bioware extended the conversation that you have with Miranda during the shuttle flight before you meet the Illusive Man. Bioware could possibly increase the questions she asks to include some of the major choices that you would have normally made in the first game (i.e., your decisions on Virmire, in the ending, etc.), so that you still get to make those choices without having to play the first game.
the only thing io cant stand bout he ps3 is where getting shafted when it comes to psn 2d fighters, fuck you very much sony. bitch ass motherfuckers.

How did EA manage to get Mass Effect on PS3? Those are some greedy ass bastards. Unless the port gerts outsourced, it will be at the cost of Dragon Age 2 or Mass Effect 3, since EA over works staff.
