The Official PS3 thread

It wouldn’t be that hard and they would make bank.

They would make the opposite of bank, as such a move would effective destroy any PSP hardware sales. It’s like they would be competing with themselves.

It’s probably the same reason they’re NOT going to offer PS2 BC except through PS Store purchases and HD Remakes. There’s only cost involved otherwise, and no profit to be made.

I don’t know. The PSP has been out for a while. I think the amount of sales from the games themselves would counteract the amount they would lose from the PSP. I have a PSP and use it for portable gaming all the time. Maybe make it so you have to register a PSP to your system or something. It would be interesting to see how they would do it. Or make it Plus members only.

heh, yeah…the whole point there, at least for me, is the portable factor. I was just playing it the other day while in line for the emissions test on my car…heh, it was a long line so I had plenty of time to play PSP… I’m actually considering getting another one as a “legit” back-up (while the other one remains “magical” with all that CPS1&2 arcade greatness on it)

The deal with Little Big Planet works for me since I still haven’t bought that game… ha, I’m so late on that particular franchise; part 2 is apparently due out soon. I really just want the first one since some stuff will apparently transfer or unlock things in the sequel(?)

I’m not holding my breath on it ever happening, but having PSP games playable on the PS3 would immediately make the PS Store hands-down the best virtual marketplace out of all 3 consoles. Jeanne D’Arc, Ultimate Ghosts & Goblins, Valkyria 2…god damn that’d be tight.

I don’t know about that, since the bulk of video game companies’ profit is from the software sold, not the hardware. I mean, Sony still turns a profit, even though they sell the PS3 at a loss.

Yeah I seriously would not own a PSP if I couldn’t have portable emulation of all the arcade goodness, plus being able to play PS1 stuff that isn’t on the store yet is pretty nice too.

Definitely not the case with the PSP… lol

I thought it was interesting, but Amazon has Sorcery and The Fight: Lights Out (both Move exclusives) listed at $40 retail, but are pre-selling them at $36.99.

Nice to know you don’t have to pay full price on Move games when they come out.

I really don’t know about that. Everyone who wanted a PSP already got one, the Go has been a bust(I’ve never seen anyone walking around with one), and even if you have one I’d MUCH rather play on a PS3 anyday. I just think that a whole lot more people would pay to play for example Peace Walker on their PS3 rather than buy a PSP just to play it.

I know Sony ultimately wants to sell more PSP Hardware than anything, but unless they are gonna do a solid price cut or gain more must have titles for it it’s on the way out IMO. So why not turn it to more to a supplement system to the PS3 than a stand alone unit? Producers will sell more copies of the games and intice more companies to make PSP software, Sony will recoup some if not all the cost of the PSP’s not being sold from the extra revenue, and customers may even consider picking up PSP’s to play these games on the go.

PSP games on PS3 wouldnt compete with the PSP because the whole point of PSP is that its portable. If it was bad business, there would never have been a Super Game Boy or gamecube Game Boy adapter. Doesn’t Sony advertise PS3 as it does everything? We should hold them to that. I dont care about portable, I just want to play games like the Persona remake and Rondo of Blood remake.

It’s too damn good, not to mention the fact that the original TurboGrafx-16 version is on there as well as SOTN with extras. You can even rearrange the music from any of the three games, too.

It’s the reason I bought my PSP. I wish Konami would put the Rebirth games on PSN and that Castlevania: Harmony of Despair wasn’t an XBLA exclusive.

Latest cop:

Atelier Totiri
White Album

yeah luckily i at least own the turbo duo version, but its not in english (which isnt too big of a deal)

You can only submit ratings on content you purchased, or played on the Store. So no downvoting just cause you feel like it. Looks like Move support was snuck in this firmware update.

psn+ has age of zombies for free. age of zombies is a sick psp minis game (don’t have psn+), so if you’re going for psn+, you should get that shit.

Having trouble adding funds to my PSN account, using multiple cards. I guess their authentication servers are taking a beating right now, like they did when the COD map packs etc came out.

Anyone else having issues?

Is it another boring-ass smashtv ripoff with zombies? Swear to god, can we get a fps or tps zombie game, dammit??

lol. pretty much. but its a good time waster, and has a decent amount of humor in it. i don’t think it being a twin stick shooter like all the other top down zombie shooters is a bad thing… considering your psp alternatives… which there aren’t any… its pretty good.

its definitely better that that “i maed a game with zombiez in it”.

“Those who update their PlayStation Portable to the newest firmware are in for a surprise. Wait, wait – I might be overselling this. The update adds two new game folders to the handheld: “NEOGEO” and “PCEngine” (aka TurboGrafx 16).”

that would be SICK!

im outi
