I have an HDTV and the first time I encountered this problem was on a friend’s HDTV.
I just formatted the hard drive, and restored all the default settings on the PS3 and the problem is still there. I tested out another game (FF13) and the problem is even worse.
The funny thing is, SSF4 works fine, and that’s the game I play the most!
I think my PS3 is crippled for sure, but what’s weird to me is that no one has had this problem with their own system before (or at least that I’ve seen).
man… 13 looked absolutely horrible on 360. i have no idea why they would want to do this… not because i think 360 people should suck it, but because they took one of the most amazing looking games ever and made it look like absolute shit on another system. far be it from me to keep squareenix from making money (i couldn’t stop them if it tried), but the 360 port was obviously something they didn’t put their heart into just to make some extra cash.
i saw the 360 version after i beat the ps3 version, and what i saw made me mad. it was so jarring to me that i couldn’t focus on anything else. if i was an xbox owner and xbox was the only system i could get the game for, i would be mad.
They do things like that because some developers don’t give a fuck about sacrificing graphics. That may be what we want, but for them?
Money > Everything
That’s why 13 was on 360 and that’s why Monster Hunter 3 got yanked off of PS3 and put on the Wii instead. Their top priority is making as much money as possible.
First day sales for XIII in the US were 1,322,100 units. 828,200 copies were the PlayStation 3 version, and 493,300 were for the Xbox 360. Yes, PS3 outsold the 360, but the 360 still sold half a million on the first day. I’m sure Squenix saw that shit and started salivating at the thought of porting Versus over. Don’t be surprised if it happens.
