Picked up Dot Game Heroes. I want to make a character, but I can’t decide since there are so many options. Plus, I want to enter the contest that Atlus is having.

I’m not fully convinced on the whole concept of this game like everyone else is.
I’m not PuFF, but I’ll post my impressions.
At the start of the game, you can choose from a bunch of pre-made characters, including characters from various games. Each character is one of three classes, which I think affects how much life/magic you start with. You can also make your own character, but you don’t have to do it from scratch. You can take an existing character and edit it to make your own. As for the game itself, there are a lot of references to various games, and not just Atlus/From Software games. Even things like music and sound effects resemble certain games; the music during the character selection could pass for the file select music in Dragon Quest, for example. Lots of inside jokes from the small amount of play time I’ve had so far. The gameplay basically resembles Zelda, but you already know that. I feel the game plays closer to the Game Boy Zelda games than Zelda 1. The world map looks to be large…I expect to have fun exploring all of it. Digging the music so far, and the graphics are really nice (the water…).
Question for anyone playing Dot Heroes: Did anyone find a key for the room in the middle of the first dungeon?

3D Dot Game Heroes is definitely a lot of fun. I’m doing my first playthrough as the President from Metal Wolf Chaos.
I didn’t find a key for that room in the first dungeon either.

It’s as fun as you want it to be in all honesty. A lot of the fun comes from me playing the game as different characters. Playing my first one as Mega Man.
Customizing is really easy, especially if you use a template and make it your own. The combat so far is fun. Nothing special to it. Just good ole fashioned hack and slash. The game is solid.
They say the game ranges from 10-25 hours depending on how many side quests you do and stuff. To me it feels like a modern form of"Zelda: A Link to the Past". Honestly, it’s worth the 40 bucks.
Okay after reading a few of your post, i went out and bought game. It was between this or LBP 1. LBP 1 catches my attention but then it fades. Hopefully you fuckers do not let me down.

True. I just HATE the main campaign for LBP. Esp having to do it just to unlock stuff.
But it is fun to make everything.
I never liked LBP. I borrowed it from a friend but I would have been pretty annoyed if I paid 60 dollars for it. LBP is what you make it. If you like level design and stuff then it’s a good game for you. If you just like old school platforming then LBP is a little underwhelming.
It is fun to play with 3 other people though.
