Wow T-tar’s and Zoarark’s sprites suck. That pre-evolved steroid fighting pokemon with the wood beam is badass, most dynamic animation by far.

I’m not really that surprised that the games sold that much, they were advertised like there’s no tomorrow; EVERYWHERE. Seriously, you’d have to be living under a rock, in the forest in the middle of nowhere to not here about the games. Pretty much any electronic/gaming store had a mini booth dedicated the games, it was on TV all the time, adverts on the train, etc. etc. Shit was crazy.
For it to do as well in Europe/US, shit would have to be advertised just as much. Even then, the Japanese just love Pokemon so yeah…
Anyways, is anyone else imported/playing the game? Just took alot at some of the new moves, lolwut a fire move that does 180 damage? Lowers, Def, Sp Def and Speed but still, DAMN. I still surprised at some of these potentially game breaking moves (not that the one above is, but it’s fucking powerful)
The point I was trying to make is that America loves Pokemon almost as much as Japan. Not only do you have the adult demographic who have been playing since RBY and GSC. You have the children who started with DPpt and are now obsessed. The teenage demographic who started with RSE and crave for more. The child and teenage consumers are very skilled at convincing their parents to buy them anything they want, so their parents fulfilling their desires pretty much guarantees sales.
Yeah we have people who don’t play the series anymore, but Pokemon is still going to sell millions in the US. Pokemon PRINTS MONEY and Nintendo knows this. Pokemon is so fucking well known that when I spell it with a capital P in firefox; the browser recognizes it as the correct spelling. Jesus Christ, lol.

Pokebeach’s long post on the whole Nintendo C&D thing.
Key points:
- The cease and desist is 100% real - they have spoken to a real lawyer who provided them with real documents.
- The only problem Nintendo had with the site (and others who were sent C&Ds) were the images in general. NOT because they supposedly came from ROMs (which they didn’t).
- Nintendo recognized that the images were taken down and the matter is resolved, provided they were not put back up. However, they never said in plain English when any site would be able to put them back up in the future.
- WaterPokemonMaster is ticked about it, but doesn’t want to get his domain taken away.

According to the smogon forums playing randoms over WI-Fi is now like playing Pokemon battle revolution in that you can now see what Pokemon the other player has before the battle starts and you can only chose 3 for a single battle and 4 for a doubles. As far as they can tell the option of seeing the opponents Pokemon can’t be turned off even if you’re playing with friend codes although with FCs you can play with all 6 Pokemon if you want to.
