yes you can
I won’t be there until Saturday morning since I have an invite, but I’d like to know what there is to do in Indianapolis, too.
hey guys… who do you think is better? heracross or electivire?
heracross
electrivire is not a very good OU mainly for weakness to EQ (even worse running off base 67 speed) and lack of good physical electric moves (running off base 123 attack). also a lot of pokemon can easily take an attack from evire. the best way to use evire is to predict an electric attack (especially twave) and switch it in for free speed. but if you like a big big movepool, it works.
heracross however is outclassed by scizor. even then, toxic/flame orb heracross with guts and scarfed heracross works really well and has much versatility on its sets.
Started a so-called Nuzlocke Run in Yellow and Sapphire. Made things interesting. http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?t=507003
Also missed a chance at a shiny Grimer. Gaaaah! :annoy:
re: Poke Diamond/Platinum
How do I beat Fantina? Is it worth raising the Happiny all the way to a Blissey to wall the hell out of her ghosts? (And Ghost immunity of course.) I must say I got beat once and am having difficulty at that Ghost Gym.
hmm electivire has base 95 speed
and with thundrpunch/eq/icepunch/crosschop he covers 13 weaknesses
but Hera is better for stab megahorn+close combat? even though he has 85 speed?
just wondering
Heracross has two STAB attacks at 120 Base Power (180 with BP). 3 of the attacks you listed (which are on a typical Electivire set) have either 75 or 80 BP. And Thunderpunch with STAB is only 112 BP. Electivire easily loses to most bulky Pokémon mainly because it doesn’t learn strong enough moves. :xeye:
I like Heracross for a few reasons:
-
Walls. Cressy, Hippodawn, there’s not much Vire can do against these threats. With Megahorn, Heracross covers Cressy. 2X CC at an Adamant Nature should down Hippodawn, though Heracross does not enjoy the defensive drops. Hippodawn strikes back with STAB EQ which will KO Vire instantly.
-
Resistances. They always must be factored. Heracross resist fighting and heavily resists EQ, both are very common in the metagame.
-
Versatility Differences. Running off 2 STAB’s via 120 base is nothing to shrug about. Choice items teem favor Heracross better than Vire, though I guess people can counter that by saying Vire can be mixed (wall breaker). No matter how you look at it, Heracross has just has much verastility as Vire. Then you have Guts or Motor Drive, I think Guts really gives the better boost doubling Cross’s ATK Power.
Trust me, Nintendo/Game Freak is still being creative.
That’s why 4th gen failed so much.
How is Scizor better than Heracross?
Bullet Punch + Technician Trait
Priority. And better defenses.
awesome
thanks for the info guys! much appreciated
For one, he makes the best use of priority moves thanks to Technician, and also has Swords Dance, Baton Pass, Agility, and Roost. Overall, he has fearsome offense, outstanding support, and can be a wall. Heracross on the other hand is limited to pure offense.
actually… heracross would win

lol srsly… worst trainer ever
lol false swipe, epic fail.
if I recall that season was in johto, scizor didn’t have many great moves then
hidden power bug
steel wing
stat booster
filler
awesome scizor sets
well, I mean as compared to now.
Actually the whole fightwas pretty cool, and in reality Scizor should’ve won. Heracross used Megahorn which has a x4 resistance on Scizor. I hate Ash.
