True however Butterfree wouldn’t fair so well should the CPU used Rock Throw, possibly OHKOing it.
Don’t listen to him  seriously you’ll just get frustrated doing it that way. I remember the rumors about the pokeradar and how chaining pokemon together increased shiny encounters, pure BS. Tried and tried with no results.
Once you get a chain over 50 your chances of getting a shiny are HIGHLY increased. Just look out for the shiny patch. My gold Buizel says sup.

You hit it right on the nose. The funny thing is if you bought HGSS you can get your SID easy. The game comes with a shiny lol. Save infront of the lake of rage red Demon and catch it. Figure out its IVs, then reset. Do that 3/4 more times. Make sure to record it down. Finally there is a thing on RNGreporter that you input the IVs from the Gyarados and based on your ID and the beasts IVs it eliminates all other SID possibility’s down to 1, yours =). I did it in about 15 mins lol.
good luck on those resets btw =)
@ shiningsoul
My rule of thumb is to never level a pokemon to level 100 lol. You can retrain a lvl 99 pokemon as many times as you want using EV reducing berrys, then placing it in the PC. A lvl 100 pokemon cant gain Exp so that means no EVs!
@ Raziel321
Shiny Zapdos looks like shit if you ask me . It would have been much more boss if it became like red or black or blue lmao.
Unless they changed something from gen 3 to gen 4, boxing a Pokemon and retrieving it should recalculate the stats no matter the level. Even a L100 poke should get its stats recalced. Unless they decided to say “yeah, let’s add a line of code to not do the recalc at L100.”
He means chaining the same pokemon together via the pokeradar. The problem with that is it’s completely random, sometimes you don’t even get the pokemon needed to continue the chain. I chained together like 15 Ditto while I was trying to breed, and did everything right in order to continue the chain but got a gastrodan. I don’t know if it’s a continuous chain or chains that go through periods of time (example would be actually chaining 55 of the same pokemon without messing up the sequence, or just chaining 15 here/15 there…)
I do agree it can be inconsistent. I have lost many chains and never knew why lol. There were some people back in the D/P days that were good at it, but it just took too much time for something not competitive lol.
You may need it, but hey, if my unlucky self can hatch an almost flawless 30/31/30/31/31/31 Gastly after only about 60 or so eggs, then anyone can do it…
In other news, I was on Shoddy today and have rediscovered my love for Parasect. Such a beast with his little beady eyes and mushroom head.
Looks like you’re still right because he has the same moveset he did in R/B, only the LV is different
Onix (Brock)
R/B LV14
Yellow LV12
Tackle
Screech
Bide
Bind
Pathetic, especially since R/B is commonly referred to being harder than G/S. Most of the trainers in R/B use wild trained pokemon, this includes regulars/gym leaders/even some E4 leaders. The champion even uses wild trained pokemon :looney:
Ex:
Bruno’s Machamp cannot hit ghost types in R/B
Blue’s Arcanine uses Roar in battles, Roar always fails in trainer battles and therefore is rendered useless
