I just recently started playing pokemon again, and I have been trying to make a decent team. I haven’t battled online just yet so I don’t need to worry too much about facing strong opponents since the few people I know who do play don’t seem to know all that much about the intricacies of the games. Though one girl has an all legendary team, and that is pretty intimidating, luckily she didn’t learn about EV trainign until they were all nearly 100, so their EV’s aren’t all what they should be… though I still need to get a team to 100 to even face that one.
I was wondering:
Do you guys pokesav your pokemon or do you actually breed them to have ideal IV’s, natures and whatnot. because that seems like a huge amount of time investment.
and when you all battle online do you have any kind of restrictions like who is usable or what kinds of moves?
I personally pokesav my shit, but just because it takes so fucking long to breed, I know a few others on here do as well. It’s acceptable for the most part as long as the pokemon have theoretically obtainable ivs, evs, stats, movesets, abilities, etc.
There’s different brackets for pokemon, basically uber and then everything else. smogon.com has a pretty comprehensive list of everything.
I’ll be on some of today but I got an uber team atm, looking for some uber battles. Never did one and I fee like it, so get on with your ubers people!

Why do you always get so lucky vs me? It’s so annoying. 3 thunders to get my first paralasys, 5 if you count the 2 in the last match. Your first one, bam, paralyzed too and it paralyzes me when I try to go first. You should feel bad whenever you beat me because it’s always haxed gayness.

and I read up on Smogon before, I just wasn’t sure that was what SRK was following too. Does anyone know if Pokesav works with the R4? if so I’ll have to get it, right now I have something like 14 pokemon that I would actually use. so it wouldn’t be too hard to remake them.

Not sure about the R4 part but IVs can’t be over 31 in each stat and EVs can’t be over 510 in total. You can use shoddy battle to check IVs for 70 atk hidden powers and such.

ohh…well I knew about the IV’s not being over 31. I thought you meant like realistically obtained IV’s. there is an AR code for all IV’s to be 31 which is nice, but the EV training takes a while and not being able to get certain moves on my pokemon sucks…

Bastos - If you’re using Pokesav then you input all the EVs, etc into it. There’s no actual work involved which is nice. I recommend getting AR + Pokesav, it’s pretty awesome. I just made like 12 uber in like 10 minutes.
