Wanna battle?
kay lets go!
since you’re not on yet, i’ll be a min.
OK I’ll be on in a few mins!
OK I’m on
you have two of my guys asleep against sleep clause, are you just gonna use sing all day? if you’re outta moves you should just run…
edit: now 3!!!
okayyyyy! apparently you’d rather break sleep clause instead of taking your loss. you have nothing left but sleep on blissey and an almost dead poliwrath that should be out to my zaptos who’s illegally asleep. you’re still trying to win even though you lost half an hour ago!
Wow and to think I had Serene Grace and it didn’t even activate ONCE! I had no attacks left which is why I used Sing, I didn’t know you’d prefer a Run sry. i also didn’t expect you to switch from your Sleep Talker so i was preserving my PP for other moves.
GG Lolo, Outplay, Outlast, Outwit… SURVIVOR!
if you have no choice but to sleep because you’re out of moves, that’s the end of the game imo. running wastes all whole lot less time. lol. gg.
still, i haven’t lost faith in my team. with all that…they were still victorious :encore:
edit: i should give pp maxes to meatwagon because he doesn’t have any and he literally had one left on each move!!!
cool i’m back now, just wanted to say gg to lolo. yeah you beat me down pretty bad and blissey got her ass kicked but held her own,…very neat stuff.
i’m back for battles also, post up if interested.
Well from my perspective, since I’ve been in close spots like this before and still won, I felt to give it my all. I was vying for aberrant factors such as being Full Paralyzed and and sacrificing turns for you to waste your offensive attacks allowing me to setup. I was intentionally using my Sings on Zapdos even though it was already asleep to create some legitimacy in the clause. 4/5 of your remaining Pokemon were weak to my last guy so my aim was to stall.
This is a legitimate tactic that can be done on Netbattle/Shoddy because with Sleep Clause is programmed to wake up your opponent on the next turn, unfortunately WiFi battle doesn’t have any built in clauses to modify which is a pity.
It’s OK Lolo, that situation probably won’t occur again and I’ll Run if it does.
I think we all should have a little meeting on how we should treat Clauses in rare situations when complex scenarios occur. Because we don’t have the luxury of preprogrammed clause restrictions in Shoddy.
**
For instance-**
-Effect Spore Breloom/Parasect activating Sleep.
-Icebeam/Blizzard Freezing more than one Pokemon. (IMO Freeze clause is impossible to enforce, esp. with the Dragons looming)
-Using Sleep moves solely as PP wasters when you’re out of direct attacks to outstall lategame.
-Having multiple Rest/Talkers on one team.
-Using Sleeping moves to stall on an already statused opponent who has remained unswitched for over 10 minutes.
-Using Sleep moves on an opponent who has Blocked you while the clause is in effect because you have already used your other attacks. (Highly possible in a lategame Bronzong vs Blissey scenario.)
ecetera… etcetera…
::puffs pipe::
In my opinion, lategame sleep moves should be allowed on the condition it’s your last move available. I don’t want to have my whole team asleep only to get EQd all over the place. Multiple Rest/Sleeptalkers should be allowed, IMO. But you should be able to put other pokemon to sleep if the status is self-inflicted.
The idea is that they have 2 or more Pokemon who are Rest/Talking and you put one to sleep, you use a Sleep move on the turn they are about to wake up on and instead they decide to switch, effectively causing a Sleep Clause.
This is a concern because players sometimes Sleep status Rest-Talkers on the waking turn, so they can take advantage of the 1/3 random move chance. On Netbattle/Shoddy you can do it and if they switch the next pokemon will automatically wake up.
Anybody want to battle?
it was not close!!! 4 very defensive guys and moltres against blissey and poliwrath scraps…please.
set up what?? a substitute on poliwrath? he barely even had enough hp to make a substitute! and 4 of my pokemon had enough defense to take him out, so they were NOT weak to him! not to mention 3 of them had pressure and you were almost out or out of PP on rock slide already which wasn’t even doing good damage! you didn’t even have enough pp to finish me between almost dead poliwrath and no moves blissey…
if you could have done something other than putting 3 guys to sleep (which you obviously couldn’t have because even that didnt win you the game) then i would agree about never giving up. could poliwrath have even gotten in if you did not illegally put me to sleep? the answer is NO.
new video!
Me vs White Shadow…(though…not much to say except…I believe our next match will be much better)
These examples all seem pretty simple to me.
Effect Spore and other things like it: This obviously cant be regulated, its pure chance. The way sleep clause was explained to me that I think makes sense is you can’t put 2+ pokemon to sleep by using a sleep inducnig MOVE. That doesn’t apply to effect spore. Nor does it NEED to be regulated, as it can easily be attributed to bad luck (just like a freeze, crit hit, etc). This isnt game breaking as a whole. Purposely putting every pokemon to sleep is game breaking, and THATS why its regulated.
Ice beam/Blizzard freezes: This is just obvious. There’s nothing that can be done with this, so obviously there’s nothing that should be tried or even talked about. Freeze clause does NOT apply to wifi games, ive never seen anybody even mention it as a rule when playing over wifi because it’s obviously impossible and not even worth talking about.
using sleep moves solely as PP wasters: sleep moves have a high tendency to put a pokemon to sleep. So no, i dont think theyre legit “PP wasters” in a sleep clause game. Just don’t rely on this strategy.
Having multiple rest talkers on one team: What? I don’t see that has to do with ANYTHING. I’ve never heard of anyone using a rule to limit your number of rest/talkers. If you want to have 6 rest talkers, thats a legitimate strategy. Sleep clause specifically says that self-induced sleep does not count. Sleep clause is a rule to nerf the game breaking fast sleep. NOT to nerf rest talkers, which are not game breaking…
Using Sleeping moves to stall on an already statused opponent who has remained unswitched for over 10 minutes.: If you can’t kill a pokemon in 10 minutes and your only choice to save your PP is to try and sleep them, you are fighting a LOSING battle. You should either switch your pokemon or concede the game because 10 minutes should be enough time to kill them if you’re capable of it. Now if you’re both just stalling by using REGULAR moves, thats different, because then its a PP war. But if you have to resort to breaking sleep clause, you already lost the PP war.
Wow I haven’t seen many dragonite’s almost sweep before. I always fight them really late in the game, late game sweeper.
I’m gonna start battling again as soon as I start EV training some pokes. Does anyone have a spare Focus Blast and grassknot tm? I’m willing to trade pokemon if need be.
I wanted to have Salamence but my old one is horribly trained and thus won’t do that til I make a new one…advantage of dragonite is inner focus helps me avoid flinchhax from starting togekiss.
