So I’m now a slightly happy member of the PS3 family. Had it for a week or so but I wanted to buy an HDMI cable for it before I did anything and I can’t buy anything for it just yet. Borrowed Uncharted from work today and played that until I beat it. Still seems to hold up pretty well today save for the fact that sometimes I have to put 8 bullets into someone on Normal just to kill them. Felt like I was playing Gears of War for a moment cept these are supposed to be ‘real people’ and not monstrosities that broke outta ground just to ruin your day. Does Uncharted 2 still do that?
I haven’t touched Home either but haven’t heard to many hype things about it. What say you? Worth it or no?
Home I guess is fine if you’re into the whole social networking/avatar making thing. I ran around in it once and was faced with awful load times for everything and other avatars dancing around me. I hear there’s games and stuff to play in there, but I never stuck around myself to find out.
Home =/= Hype. Actually, not quite true. Home will be hype from July 29th to July 31st because Evo is being live streamed on there. On August 1st, it becomes a waste of time again.
Picked up both U1 and U2 this month. Loading clip after clip into the humans in U1 really seems to overqualify your gunplay for U2, though by no means does this make U2 as whole “easy” though, so don’t worry about that. More variety of shit you have to do, more variety in the game PERIOD. And while the enemies don’t feel immortal anymore, it still seems like the AI is smarter in ways and you can’t rambo everything(especially on train).
Still haven’t beat it yet, been playing loads of multiplayer. And kinda taking my time with it. All the hype for this game is well-deserved. I feel like a jackass for sleeping on it for so long. Just really hate I missed U3 beta.
@Sonichuman- Eh Home is what you make of it, there’s really no reason to use Home aside from…see some games when beaten will let you use certain clothing and such in Home, so if you want to make your person avatar look like RE5 Chris, you can let him wear clothes like it shrug
When does the U3 Beta end BTW?
That’s good to hear since that’s my biggest gripe besides that section of the game where you have to go upstream on the jetski (I got hit with a pop up exploding barrel in the final stretch of that section). One those guys I swear soaked up 12 bullets and was still firing rockets at me like a champ. He was pretty much slumped over the balcony with a bullet hole riddled body in a pool of his own blood yelling down at me ‘IS THAT ALL YA GOT!?’. There’s been a few times I’ve exclaimed ‘I thought you were fuckin dead man!?’. Looking forward to playing U2 in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for the input guys.
I had no trouble with the Jet Ski part in Uncharted 1. I also had no trouble with the meteor part in Dead Space 1. What is it about these two parts in these two games that people are always complaining about? I found them both easy to get through.
I just found the Jet Ski to be annoying. Chalk it up to me not being prepared for it when I first played the game. I barely remember but it seemed like it was almost easy to lose control.
I didn’t like the jetski, and I didn’t care for the asteroids, but I never got stuck on either. I think people complain (and fairly) if they get thrown into something different that isn’t fun in a game that they are enjoying.
Playing Mass effect 2. Bothers the hell out of me that this hardass war hero moves more slowly than I do. He sprints like floe.
