The Official PLAYSTATION® Thread: E3 - PS4 Pro November 10th $399

Once cats had let cashcom slide with sf4, the floodgates were opened. They’re neck and neck, if not on the same level, as EA now.

And I boycotted EA after the online pass fiasco.

So then.

I canceled my order for SFxT, wasn’t real hyped for it anyway. I will just pick it up on Vita, and maybe PS3 down the road. Main reason was because Amazon wasn’t shipping out the SE until Friday. I’m not against the companies having DLC locked on the disc, if it makes the barrier to entry much lower, but they are charging $60 right out the gate. They could have made it $40 and then had the locked DLC, for people that wanted to pay more. I believe BB:CS was like that, and I didn’t buy any of the 3 DLC character’s, but now I can play them on BB:CSEX.

People will cry no matter what, it’s the Entitlement Generation.

First time seeing this. Too bad Joker did win.

More like the companies will design shit to screw us over more and more, it’s The Entitlement Generation.

Fuck them, and fuck anyone who is calling those if us who stand against this new, sleazy as all fuck business practice “entitled”.

Pure and utter sophistry.

We are not saying we are entitled to a goddamned thing.

But those cocksuckers at Capcom sure as fuck are not entitled to our money.

At the same time, those of us who are buying the game to have fun with it certainly don’t need to be called “sheep” for it.

theres no reason to fight against it. Not enough people are against the way companies do dlc for the companies to care or stop doing it.

What is that quote about evil winning again?

Something about good men, doing nothing, and evil being the winner?

A few canceled pre-orders won’t change anything. The high-ground you people think you’re taking amounts to diddly squat in the end. Nickel-and-diming via DLC is here to stay, and the majority will, and continue to, eat it up.

Might as well sell your current gen consoles and games and go back to playing games three generations ago :coffee:

Dude I’m not even buying another console after this gen. Going PC.

What?

Do you think I am boycotting this trifling shite for people who couldn’t give a flying psychotic fuck if they were on LSD, Viagra, and Southwest simultaneously?

Hell no.

I’m boycotting this trifling shite because I respect MYSELF.

SRK should’ve really boycotted the game. Since it sets a bad precedent for the way fighting games in general will turn into as opposed to where they should be headed.

Ya’ll niqqas like cocks and won’t admit it; more specifically ya’ll like capcock. You’re not gay, just love slobbering on dirty capcock given to you forcefully.

My brother.

I am right there, with you.

da fuck out of here with that shit. People that buy the game like me only buy it to have fun with it. We ain’t sippin the Capcom kool-aid nor slobbering on the “capcock”.

DLC, as much as people want to claim its great for a game, is not good for the game. A patch every 2-3 years to a game would be great for a game but what would honestly happen is that people would get mad that it is no longer the game they had been playing for those 2-3 years. So what exactly is it that we want out of the fighting games currently? SFxT already has a huge roster and it could’ve easily gone without those 12 extra characters. But instead of just giving you those characters, they put it in the disc, hide it away and hope that nobody finds it. In all honesty is the smart thing to do because it mostly shuts people who are yelping about want X or Y character in a game.

But the problem is that now as a community, let’s say SFxT turns out to be good. You have to tell people to buy the game and then dlc to be caught up. With SFxT though its DLC for gems and then characters. But the problem is that they spent extra money at the start of the game to make characters so they could sell them to you later as opposed to waiting those couple of years and then seeing how things went to release a patch. They are essentially withholding content to make more money out of your original purchase, as opposed to doing what patches did, which was get money to buy the game and give those playing more incentive to keep playing.

The problem is that when people buy the game it tells Capcom it’s okay to keep doing what they’re doing. Especially when some people shell out the cash for the DLC. My fear and what others fear is just how far companies are willing to go to exploit this DLC thing. Imagine having to pay for modes like color edit/customize/training? Hell imagine having to pay for half the damn cast? Capcom saying things like they’re trying to avoid a Super/AE with SFxT is BS to me. Especially since they didn’t say that from the beginning. The only spoke up after someone hacked SFxT and showed all the characters and such. Piss poor damage control.

Fucking ASW is charging people for color packs and announcer voices in BlazBlue. I couldn’t believe that shit. Couldn’t add a color edit but ballsy enough to charge for shitty color packs…

SF X T is just a copy-pasted SFIV(right down to the fucking text)+chain and tag combos anyway. At least, that’s what it looks like. I’d love to get a chance to play it to see how the gameplay is compared to 4, because I dropped SFIV before any revisions came out, I found it that boring to play.

Yes it did.

I would say the percentage of people that buy the DLC is very low. Hardcore FG fans, if it’s their game will buy it. I haven’t bought any DLC for any fighting game, I did get Shuma & Jill with MVC3 SE, but wouldn’t buy them. Did not buy any MK characters.
Wasn’t against people buying them, I really didn’t care though. If there was a character I wanted, and was locked out for DLC, I would be pissed, but I would buy it.

Capcom ain’t good with PR, hell, a lot of these companies aren’t that good with PR. Them sending out copyright takedowns on youtube, is bullshit. They could have said a long time ago, they are putting X amount of characters, and others for DLC for fans of those characters. The shitstorm would have subsided already.

And to think there was a time when fighting games never came out and the very suggestion of boycotting a capcom fighting game would get you banned.
