I guess for the rest of us, we have to rely on shit like a list that says “Hey, this person has actually finished the game! Golden star!”

All that was said that he likes to see how little people play into games and still refer to themselves as “hardcore gamers” or some variant thereof. No, trophies are in no way a clear-cut definition of a gamer. However, if the only game on one’s list with more than one trophy is Modern Warfare 3 or Kinect Fruit Ninja, then what does that say about one’s gaming habits?

well i think trophies are good for extending games you’ve beaten. people like to get some kind of reward for doing shit. but there is no need for people running into this thread saying i got platinum this or having to post a trophy card just to show off something most of us don’t have time to do like grinding. i think this is the main hate for them.

trophies for me are my personal achievements. i’m going to take my time going for them when i usually finish a game. i’m not in a race with anyone and i could careless how many x platinums you got over me or whatever level you’re at.

All that was implied was that people can check your progress through the storyline of most games by looking at your trophy list. I don’t think it’s possible to dumb that down any more for you.

Started V. Chronicles a few hours ago and am now at Ch. 3 having spent a few minutes grinding for EXP.
Enjoying it so far, but this time I hope I can finish the first Destroyer battle…it’s the reason I stopped playing the first time =P
