I just played through FF6 again, a couple of months ago, and it was still pretty fuckin’ baller, to me.

The demo only allows you to play as the lions. It’s just some bland shump with differences between the lions you’re not really going to care for. Like the black lion sucks at ranged combat but you can still breeze through it with him. You don’t get to even play as Voltron or do space battles. It’s just that one stage in the demo. Pathetic.

Gameplay is in no way repetitive ever at all in anytime of the game.
Game is very challenging, in no way did it ever not get too easy and each battle had me at the end of my seat.
And the music, boy, did it teach you to not have sex in the gas chamber.

I’m never again playing an RPG with random encounters. But FF6 is still a glorious RPG, no nostalgia necessary.
Shadow Hearts 2 might be my only exception.
FFX is only not the worst FF because 8 exists.

FFX was cutscene cutscene cutscene follow this linear path none of the characters are any good, more cutscenes.

i thought ff6 was really good due to its music which made it an even better game. i think it has the best music out of all the FFs. i thought FF8 was underrated. sure it didn’t follow some conventions from previous games which i think where most of the hate stems from, but it was still a fun RPG.

Music has never mattered to me when it comes to video games. I usually turn the bgm off and listen to music. and yeah, ff8 is extremely under rated
