I’m so fucking hyped for UMvC3 tomorrow. I’m gonna run one of my original teams off the bat to see what changed, then I want to play Frank West/Wesker/Akuma. I’m interested in the majority of the new characters, so I’ll be in the lab figuring out a couple new teams that I may want to play. Maybe Dormammu will be on one of my new teams instead of the old ones too, I’m not sure yet. Anyway, I better get the extra outfits from Best Buy tomorrow.

Yo Sonicabid, when my UMvC3 comes in the mail we’ll have to get some matches in. I’ll still be representing the same team of Jill, X-23 & She-Hulk. They can nerf my Jill all they want but I’m still going to be handing out beat downs with her. I’m looking into also trying out Iron Fist and of course I’ll be making a team with Jill & Nemesis… dood!

Not necessarily. If I end up hating it I’m just going to return it. Regardless of my decision I plan on keeping my Namco for whenever I go to tournaments or when I want to play real fighting games like 3S and ST. But I have a HRAP3 and PS2 stick at my parents house that I plan on selling.
I wish we had some more sets, I’ve leveled up a lot since we last played and have some new teams. I need more Jill matchup experience, I didn’t even know what I was getting hit by last time we played! I’m gonna hop on right now to say farewell to the original MvC3 and play some Peace Walker.

Naaah bro, it’s all good. The changes they’re making to the system are things like taking out DHC glitch and adjusting hit stun or hit knock back to stop people from doing certain combos. You know how MvC2 was great because we found combos that developers most definitely did not intend for us to find or do, which is what further more made it more personified to us. But no, take away techniques and combos that we the players found for ourselves, take away reward for high execution(lol high execution in mvc3). Play the game the developers want us to play it. While we’re at it, lets make it so we can x-factor in the air. UMvC3 will be great.
Did you know that someone can activate X-Factor in the air now? And that the energy bars were explicitly designed to remind people to use X-Factor?
Most importantly, did you know they’re not fucking removing X-Factor?
For real. I’m not normally one of these dudes to step on someone’s purchase, but you say you hate MVC3. Don’t waste your money because of some new characters. The core game isn’t changing.
It really has gotten to the point where I’m willing to give KOF another run. No joke. It’s one of the only games that still has the traditional feel and flow to it when it comes to fighters. No bullshit mechanics, you actually have to earn your meter, you are punished for blocking, the controls are strict with no god damn shortcuts ( :mad: ) and it doesn’t have a 338475385 frame window for reversals.
Meh, I’m still buyin UMVC3 tho. Heroes and Heralds modes seems awesome. I will go half-way with you guys tho, remove X-factor and add the Mega Crush (from TvC) and we got ourselves an excellent fighter. I do believe Mega Crash is in Heralds mode tho if I’m not trippin.

I feel the same way, but my “can’t believe I’m going back to this” series is Mortal Kombat. I never in my life thought I would enjoy a MK game more than any capcom fighter. And I’m tossing obscure shit like Plasma Sword in that “Capcom Fighter” list too. But MK9 and MVC3 had to hit the same year…
MK9 is far from perfect. In fact, it has a bit of comeback BS too (the guy who’s getting beat down gets the most meter). Still though, I traded in MVC3 and never looked back. MK9 might never be on that chopping block. It just sickens me that the player who actually tries to get good at the core game is so hated nowadays.
