Rent that then. The MP is iffy if you like big damage on guns, but the SP is awesome. That’s one of the RARE games I can say that about out of my shooter collection.

U3 v1.01 patch is up, 18mb. Called it.

The movement in U3 is much better, jumps aren’t lame…these dudes can hang!
Just reached the level cap of 25 on the U3 beta. All in all, it’s pretty good. Just feels a bit slower, but not by too much. You get used to it after a few matches with not much problems transitioning. The aiming reticle is kinda uncomfortable, but it might just be me. AK is total shit compared to how good it was in U2, but after you mod it, the problems are probably fixed for the most part. Haven’t bothered to mod it yet.
Kickbacks are kind of annoying at times, but not as much as I thought they were going to be. The 2 main ones seem to be RPG! and Smokebomb. The RPG kickback(spawn an RPG with 2 rockets) takes quite a few medals to earn, so your average player will only earn it once, if at all during the course of 1 match. Smokebomb(instantly teleport away from danger) is more of a nuisance since it doesn’t take many medals at all to earn. Kinda gets annoying when your targets just disappear right when you’re about to finish them off. Also, kickbacks stack if you don’t use them right away. So, someone can have like a stockpile of Smokebombs if they earned enough medals.
Power Plays are still too frequent. The lowest lead my team had when the game initiated Power Play was a mere lead of 5. That’s pretty awful, considering Power Plays can drastically alter the course of the match, depending on the teams. If the team with the Power Play just isn’t having a good day, the winning team can extend their lead like crazy because of the bonus points awarded for fighing against the Power Play. I still think Power Plays need to be set to initiate at like 10 or 15 point leads to balance things out a bit. Guess I’ll wait and see.
Overall, it’s pretty fun. Especially with a team of your friends. If you like the beta, look out for this Subway promotion coming up soon. Subway giving promotions to gamers who buy their food. Think I sense a negative message there somewhere. Anyway, it gives you 30 days of full access to the entirety of U3’s multiplayer as it is on the disc the month before it comes out. You’re earnings also carry over into the full retail version once you purchase it the following month, so that’s good too. Pretty sure the promotion involved buying something off the Eat Fresh Menu or something. Not sure, since all the details haven’t been fully announced yet. I’ll keep a look out.
