Dracula X, I always loved “Vampire Killer”, all arrangements.
That is why Lord of The Shadows wasn’t really Castlevania to me, great game but not a Castlevania.
Why isn’t LOS a CV game to you? No Vampire Killer, cuz it does have Vampire Killer in it. It has 3 arrangement’s of Vampire Killer in fact. 3 of it’s prettiest versions if you ask me.

It’s only in the Music box stage. 3 different arrangement’s for, one for each hallway. I didn’t like the music box much, but I did really like those treatments of Vampire Killer. I’m not saying they are the best, but they are good, and the song is in the game.

Fuck no. That stuff pretty much took off with the Future series on PS3. In the original R&Cs, nothing was on a “grand scale”. The amazing levels, you either were wowed by them and payed attention to all the detail, or not. The music was funky, spaceage stuff(don’t know the proper name). No epic musical scores. Basically, the games didn’t shove anything down your throat. Just great levels, cooler, funnier, and more interesting characters, and nice exploration and content. They redesigned Ratchet. He was a selfish asshole in R&C1. They basically decided they wanted a full-fledged hero somewhere during the 2 and 3 games. But it still wasn’t Pixar-like at all. Jokes and stuff, you either caught them or you didn’t. The games pretty much flowed smoothly. They were just cool.
On paper, UYA is the best imo, but I got this personal love for OG R&C. I used to get high as fuck and play that game. It was so chill. And not once did I feel like I was finding Nemo or get a Toy Story vibe. Nothing wrong with that, and definitely nothing against the Future series. But when you watch the trailers for the ps3 games and you see them showing the cutscenes with the “pixar jokes” and musical scores it’s like…ahhh. Because it’s kinda cheesy in a way. But all of this is because, for how much the first game was praised and hailed as best platformer for that gen, there were complaints that the characters weren’t heartfelt enough. (But hell, they didn’t even like each other then. Ratchet was a near brat and Clank was a boring know-it-all. They were just working together under the circumstances and motivated by certain goals. ) Anyhow, Insomniac aimed to make the characters and story more “engaging”. Everything afterwards is a direct result of this, but with Future series aiming to produce a larger, more theatrical experience.
AC6 was really good on a next gen system, looked just amazing.
But I gave a big fuck you to my Xbox as it red ring’d.
So I was very very excited to see AC7 come out on PS3.
But wtf is this “easy mode” shit? Better not be in the game. Even as an option!
