Right, and some people (especially those coming from PC gaming) would just rather not pay period. Some people are just extremely meticulous about what they’re getting for their money. Xbox Live in the past and PS+ now have shown that the extra pay goes towards something significant especially since it’s just a once a year fee any way. It’s not like you’re paying double on your internet or anything, but some people just don’t want to pay…PERIOD. PC gamers just don’t pay for shit compared to console people other than upgrading their shit.

Microsoft has some archaic functions for its Xbox Live like the paying for rudimentary features that will most likely stop after customer complaints roll in if they don’t figure it out for themselves. Which at the end of the day, might not happen super quickly since they already know they can’t play their ultra HD 1080p AAA game online without the yearly payment any way.

To the man you were talking to, having to pay to play any triple AAA game online is scum in general which doesn’t exclude PS or Xbox. For some the entire notion of paying for any part of your online gaming entertainment on top of your IP is scummy. As soon as he wants to go play that AAA title online both Sony and Microsoft are going to ask for his money and that makes him mad.

I was readind somewhere about the remote play on the PS4 and I guess you can have up to 4 Vitas in remote play on one PS4, all signed into their own account. Anyone know if there is any truth to that?

If so it makes me wonder how remote play will work between PS4, Vita and Vita TV.

Why I’m hyped for the touch panel on the Dualshock 4 (and maybe the light).

In Valiant Hearts, a new game about World War I from Ubisoft, you can pet a dog by using the touch pad on a PlayStation 4 controller. Just rub the touch pad while your dog companion is nearby and you’ll pet it in the game.

In games like Assassin’s Creed IV and Watch Dogs, you’ll be able to navigate the map screen with simple swipes of the finger. Pinching to zoom in or out of your map can be done, and a simple tap of the pad will place down waypoints. If you’re familiar with using a smartphone then you’re right at home here.

Then there’s Transistor, which is using the light source in an extremely rad way. In the game, your sword is alive and it glows in sync with every word it speaks. That glowing/blinking effect is reflected along with the light on the controller too. It’s a simple thing, but it’s pretty cool feature.

I wonder if you can assign 8 distinct areas as buttons on the touch panel. Imagine playing Dark Souls 3 and having your spells line up with areas on your touch panel so all you have to do is tap to switch (or even use) them. Or in Metal Gear you can do some crazy things like padding down people by dragging your finger over the touch panel until the controller vibrates or tapping on the touch panel when you are against a piece of cover to knock on it to make sound.

I think Yoshida said you can connect 4 Vita’s to the same PS4, whether or not they all have to be under the same account I’m not sure but I doubt it.

You guys should all go buy Puppeteer, that Tiger boss fight was fucking awesome, Kutaro gettin’ his God of War on right quick.

as much as i like console gaming, paying for online gaming is bs. same with paying for games to play them online (wow, ff14 etc). if fighters like ggxrd and ultra sf4 get released on pc (meaning they will be free), theres really no reason for me to buy a console anymore. its been a blast consoles (atari, nes, snes, neogeo/cd/z, ps2, ps3), but i think i might be getting too old for this shit man. i hope the ps4 doesnt get to me. the first year will be easy, theres nothing worthwhile on either of the consoles (i dont buy a console for just 1 or 2 games).

For someone that likes console gaming, doesn’t sound like you like it too much.

I guess I’m in a similar boat where I hate consoles, but love the games that are on them (specifically fighting games) enough to keep buying them. PC fighting gaming won’t ever be the it thing for tournaments so yeah.

F2P Soul Calibur game got announced for PS3. Namco realizes there’s serious bank to be made with F2P games, so they give no fucks anymore.

namco is really bad with how they do f2p. they could be monetizing like crazy if they turned their ttt2 boards into leaderboards, had weekly tournament events for special items, made characters harder to attain with option to pay for unlock, and invested in some community representation for the game.

i thought they’d do much more with thier system, since it seemed like that was the direction they were going, then decided it wouldn’t monetize correctly. now they are trying with sc, and i don’t think they learned their lesson.

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 is great so far. At first I had to get adjusted to the PS2 controls but it’s fine now!

Artbook is cool too. At first I didn’t get one despite preordering cause some loser stoner told me they didn’t have any but then I called later to ask about more shipments. A different guy told me they still had some so I just went back and swapped the editions.
