PS3 has proven additional latency across most games. Many have pointed to the additional ram that the PS3 uses for its UI alonE, since both PS3 and 360 are p2p. PS4 apparently has a smooth UI and more ram to work with, hopefully ps+ being mandatory helps in Sony improving their network overall. Honestly I think Xrd will run better on PS4 both offline and online. It also helps that the PS4 is much more easier to develop for I’d probably get it for the new console. Most peeps will migrate to PS4 by 2015 anyway.

Well, they had best get it working equally well on the PS3 as on the PS4.
Or else they can go eat a bag of freshly severed AIDS infected monkey dicks.
I LOVE GG.
But Sony can go sodomize themselves into a shitty, bloody, hemorrhaging death with their PS+ ass-fuckery.
PS+ what?
PS+weeping herpes blisters, is what.
If I wanted to get extorted twice for my internet for absolutely fuck-all reason, other than the company in question is a bunch of greedy corporate cocksuckers who have nil respect for me or any other potential customer and believe we are spineless mindless twats who will comply with whatever bullshit exploitative unethical additional fees that they shovel out as forcibly mandatory with their console… I’d buy a Microsoft system.
fuck yakuza 5, i want daytona usa 2 you sega fuckers.
that being said, still no reason at all to own a next gen system yet.
it might be worth it when ggxrd gets released (fuck ms and the ki franchise). but ps4 is the same bs way xb has been with online play, you have to pay for it. so the ps3 version might just be the way to go untill theres even more goodness to own a ps4. (if ever, and the ps3 version doesnt lag like a bitch, but i dont think it will, since it ps3 exclusive and not ps360).

You would still lose more going that route over PS4 tbh.
Yeah it would be great if online was free on consoles with quality networks but it isn’t falsifiable at the moment. MGO was a good example of how free dedicated servers can go wrong. P2P is another story but after the Sony hack it was only logical for them to recoup the cost via subscription.
There are positives to digital titles like having a game that doesn’t work the fans much since it’s on your HDD and not BR disc but the fact that it’s digital makes it less valuable than something physical. Since you can take it anywhere and sell it. Until digital titles allow for resale and be taken anywhere via usb storage they won’t be equal to physical media. The good news is digital titles are usually cheaper or end up being dirt cheap after a few years. We’ve been losing consumer rights for a while and I am not saying we should accept it but the PS+ service>>>>XBL Gold. Even if it is a glorified rental service it still beats what most companies offer atm. Once the new batch of must get games drop from the land of the rising sun most people will gladly jump on the PS4/Plus bandwagon.
Want out of this reality? Go to the Himalayas and renounce material goods, or go PC and miss out on some JP AAA titles. People were getting the shaft decades before we were born and probably decades after we rot and decay. Just pay for what you like and ignore the rest. Man if we got a digital Yakuza 5 I wouldn’t even be mad…
If you got a way for consoles to offer free online and make it profitable I’m all ears. Sadly making consoles isn’t a profitable business and hence the reason behind the theory PC will take over in the decades to come. MS only got in the game to prevent Sony taking over the living room and Sony got into the game cause Nintendo said no. Nintendo doesn’t know much else outside the gaming market…unless you look into their past making toasters. It’s a hard knock life for console makers, even harder for 3rd party devs trying to make AAA titles but going bankrupt.

Namco needs to do something worthwhile with their miserable lives and localize that shit.
Also 95 bucks for the vita tv thing is absurd.
Why the hell isn’t it just a 30 dollar cable you plug in or something?

subt-L:
that’s pretty cheap, and as a ps4 streaming, that’s a really cheap solution for remote playing.
but what about touch screen stuff? seems like… a major oversight.
Yeah. It does suck but I don’t get why they wouldn’t bundle the DS4 instead of a DS3 to at least sort of help with that. I mean who wants to use a DS3 anymore when the DS4 will be out anyway.

Here we go with Shenmue 3 again…
Galaga DX is free tomorrow.
Dragon Fantasy Book 2 is out tomorrow.
Looks like I’ll be playing video games again…
And I finally platinum’d that Sonic Genesis Collection… Fucking Spinball… I’m so bad at that game.

More info on the PS Vita TV device
Update: Here’s some more information regarding the PS Vita TV.
The PS Vita TV will be able to play 1,300 games from the Vita, PSP, and PSone library. Through a future system software update, players will be able to enjoy PS4 games with the PS4 remote play function using a Dual Shock 4 controller.
Software that come preinstalled with the device include a browser, email, and party application for voice and text communication. Additional apps for download include Music Unlimited, radiko.jp (“an Internet Protocol simulcast radio service”), a “Reader” e-book app, and LiveTweet for Twitter.
PS Vita TV users will be able to take advantage of the standby mode. Just like the PS Vita, players can temporarily save the game’s state by putting it in sleep mode then resume later where they left off.
Additionally, PS Vita TV users can play with other Vita owners using Ad Hoc mode. The PS Vita TV itself will be able to connect up to 2 Dual Shock 3 controllers, allowing for multiplayer games on PSone titles.
The PS Vita TV will come with a HDMI cable, AC adaptor, and power cord. It will have slots for a memory card and PS Vita game card. At roughly $100, this is essentially an affordable version of the Vita that you can play on your TV with more features. Though it should be noted that it’ll only support 1080i, 720p, and 480p resolutions.
For additional information, including the specs of the device, take a look at the official sheet.
Update 2: Here is a list of compatible Vita games for the Vita TV. It’s in Japanese however, but a quick glance shows Gravity Rush, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, and WipEout 2048 missing from the list. It looks that games that use touchscreen functionality will not be compatible with the device, but I suppose things can change in the future.
