yeah, more like its been a bad shooting 12 months.
Please don’t take the wind out of the sails before the Mavs ship has started to sail again. XD
Damn it, I hope things turn around and Barnes will find his shot. I mean I trust the coach and he’s all in on him, or maybe he kinda has to be at this point.
so here’s my harrison barnes opinion, as a warrior fan who wanted him to work out here:
he has all the skills. from your sf, he has all the things that could make him a potential all star. he is smart, he’s super athletic, he can shoot, he can dribble, and he can defend. he’s an excellent finisher, can play in the post, and the way he plays he will rarely get injured.
his problem? almost all mental. decision making and perseverance just isn’t there. its not that he’s dumb, but he just can’t put all those skill together and really figure out a playstyle that suits him best. but part of that might be playing alongside some of the best shooters in the world on a team that didn’t really need him to do much outside of sit in the corner and take open 3s. or maybe it was mark jackson totally brain fucking him and forcing him to be a player he wasn’t early in his career. or maybe it was just him in college focusing on his “brand” as opposed to the skills he needed in the nba.
regardless, i don’t think barnes is broken beyond repair. anyone with eyes has looked at harrison and went “this guy could be a monster when he puts it altogether”. but unlike everyone you say that about who doesn’t end up succeeding, barnes isn’t a headcase or an egotist or has gone through a catastophic injury. he just needs someone to get him to figure out how to dominate with his skills, and perhaps not being 4th-5th banana on a stacked team could get him there.

Whiteside is an absolute beast now that he’s a first option.
Can’t wait until all the “he doesn’t have a jumpshot” or “all he does is dunk” dumbasses come up with excuses this year.

All these super tall, skilled, athletic bigs coming in the league… sheesh.

Probably late as hell with the joke but idgaf. Bucks drafting him to pair with Thon. Team needs more length, and veteran leadership.
Hello. I’ll be back when the playoffs start.
I went to the barbershop to get a haircut and found this Halloween decoration:
@subt-L
Well thanks for the observations and opinion. I think he sounds like a much better Gerald Green. Gerald had troubles putting it together with the Mavs, even though I thought he had good mechanics on his shot, was athletic and had a reliable body.
I hope the staff and team can feed him some confidence. Then things like decision making, shot making and such always improve a lot. But we’ll see about that soon. Ah the season is around the corner.

mclemore is literally on his last legs in sac after being a huge disappointment since he was drafted, and last year was a huge step back, spotting a 7/2/1 line in 22 minutes a game.
still the kings instant reject a trade to move him for MCW.
lol. must feel bad.

their make up is much different. gerald has a score first mindset, and the types of shots he takes are very aggressive.
barnes isn’t that. he’d be much better working within a system and playing off of his teammates. very rarely is he taking charge and dominating a game.
some times you wish he had a little bit of gerald’s fire and tried to take over a game when needed. but sometimes you wish green would be a little bit more under control and worked with his team better.
mavs still feel like a team that barnes is better suited for. dirk still has gravity, wes is super solid, the pgs compliment barnes’s skill set better, and carlisle is smart enough to make this work. keep barnes as a slasher and 3+D and run some action to keep him involved and i see him working out well there.
here for nance jr.
workworkworkworkworkworkworkwork
Nance jr is the real stuffs. Him and Tarik Black clearly should be starting this season based on what we’ve seen so far. I like the idea of Clarkson coming off the bench, together with Randle that could be a deadly pairing.
They’re very fun to watch when they get out on the fast break, defense still needs some work.
If Lakers want to tank yet again, yeah they should def bring Clarkson and Randle off the bench. Otherwise that’s suicide.
i want embiid to succeed so bad cuz he just seems like a dope kid.
i mean… asking to be announced as “the process” during pregame… that’s some savvy humor there.
Clarkson is ok coming off the bench. Randle has shown no range up until now and Walton wants to mimic the Warriors offense as much as possible. Why else would Lou Williams be starting right now? I wouldn’t be surprised somewhere down the season Deng gets moved to 4 anyway.
They want to copy the Warriors, but have nowhere near the talent to do it.
