They could move him over to SG, but I think we are beyond that at that point. Tony Allen and Tyreke Evans will be on the market, possibly won’t command too much money. Also need to do something about center, the only way they get rid of Mozzy is to absorb a bad contract or include Young in the deal. Fucking hell.

Only reason I’m not really upset is because I fully expected this team to be garbage the entire season. But the team got off to a hot start and a lot of people gave them a lot of leeway. Jim needs to step down at the end of the season and this roster needs massive changes but with two albatross contracts like Deng and Mosgov I don’t see how that happens.

They already did this last year. It resulted in the 3rd pick and Jaylen Brown. Don’t expect Boston to keep the pick this time now that IT has basically evolved into a superstar.

Besides they have a dilemma brewing, next summer Smart and Bradley are free agents. They either have to choose one to sign or draft a replacement. And the top SG this year is Malik Monk. Boston should trade down, get a good player in a deal while also having a pick to get Monk.

I would agree their best bet is trading for Hayward using the #1. Celtics are in “win now” mode, not develop another rookie mode. Hayward would be that legit second playmaker they need around Thomas.
