I’m sure Gruden is disappointed that Snyder picked up the fifth year option. Gruden doesn’t want any part of RG3. I have a feeling Gruden is going to be gone after a season or two via buyout.

Nothing is guaranteed by picking up the option for RG3, unless he has a season-ending injury that leaves him physically unable to play in 2016. If he plays poorly in 2015, the Skins can cut him and not owe him anything. If he miraculously turns it around, the Skins just prevented him from hitting the free agency market a year early. And we’d want to keep him and pay him the $16 mil IF that turns out to be the case. Either way, it was actually a smart move, barring any serious injuries (but we all know how that could end up, too).
