It’s pretty obvious. Basically free up a ton of Cap Room to make all the signings in FA so the hit of having to trade all the picks for Mariota not hurt as much.
I doubt Polk or Sproles will be the Starter going in. The Draft is deep at RB and there are a couple of decent options at RB in FA as well.
Anyway, Oregon East is in effect. If this fails, Chip loses nothing as he can walk back to College for free and the Eagles will be set back an entire decade.

At least the Eagles were a semi-consistent playoff team after that SB loss. If this doesn’t pan out, it will be a decade before they even see the playoffs again. Though this is assuming they make the trade for Mariota. If they don’t it’s easy enough to rectify.

That one is Trent’s own fault. They asked him to take a paycut, which was fair as his role and play was decreasing, he refused.
What people…sadly have to realize is that Chip holds no loyalty to Andy’s guys. He wants to make HIS team. I mean, as disheartened as I am, I do commend the fact that the man has balls. He’s willing to go all in on his vision rather than half-ass moves because we got a fraudulent 10-6 last year.
But like you said, if this doesn’t pan out he’ll be the most hated man in Philly. Bobby Petrino would be less hated in Atlanta. DJax and Trent were one thing but Shady was a PA guy and the most loved guy on the team. Philly fans might’ve been patient before but not anymore. He’s going to have to win the division this year…somehow.
This is not going to be a fun offseason.

Sproles isn’t a guy you should depend to start, he’s awesome when he’s subbing in or being a return guy.
