That’s what having a shit GM and a coach who lacked creativity for 8 of those 12 years.
And to be fair in the expansion draft, they nerfed it hard because the Panthers and Jags became legit after only a few years, it’s why the Browns and Texans are still pretty bad since their expansion drafts benefits are much lower than the Panthers and Jags drafts.

Guys I called this like 2 weeks ago , the Eagles are gonna get Mariota too, this is Chip’s way of making HIS team. McCoy cost a small fortune and Sproles is fine. This is a good move for the Eagles and they got a amazing LB in Kiko, this guy had a legit great rookie campaign (hell his fantasy points did me good 2 years ago) and you get a refreshed hopefully healthy young LB who might not be a household name but is young and while coming off injury can help that awful defense.

The problem is that Shady was supposed to be one of the potential pieces of bait to move up and get Mariota in the first place. That means if the Eagles are going to move up they have to burn even more Draft Picks.
What this does, other than what you mentioned, is clear up a ton of Cap Space (Eagles now have 55 Mil in Space from last check, which is crazy when you consider they started the morning with 24 Mil in space), and now makes resigning Maclin a bigger priority.
And just when I thought I could chill this offseason.
