6 days until srk fantasy drafts…

I love that Tampa is bringing in incognito , while waiting till after week 1 would mean no guaranteed money . Just address the position that’s real bad and pay the man some little amount and get a bargain out of it . Hopefully he’s in football shape .

Guess they feel comfortable enough with Garrappolo being the back-up QB. He’s been solid all throughout the preseason.

Love the Timmy Wright for mankins trade . Good for both teams . NE saves money and Tampa fills the needed void.

Wright is a good TE, that was a good trade indeed.

Like Ryan Clark a lot but he’s way off base
Merriweather should get 10 games minimum
That’s the 6th helmet to helmet

is that the same meriweather who clocked finely and thought he could clock Eddie lacy till he got a dose of reality? that dude is a bitch.

Josh Gordon gone for the year for smoking marijuana: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/browns-wr-gordon-suspended-2014-165452986--nfl.html

“Beat the wife, not the pipe.” -Roger Goodell

So upon review:
Aldon Smith got his felony weapon possessions reduced to misdemeanors, to go along with misdemeanor DUIs. He has a 12 day sentence, 1 day already served from his arrest. He will work Mondays until Oct.
Aldon Smith completely escapes charges for the LAX incident. All charges dropped.
No news on his suspension.

Chris Culliver was not charged with felony “criminal threat” as initially reported. During his hit and run, allegedly someone tried to stop him from running, and he got out of the car with brass knuckles threatening the person. He was charged with felony possession of metal knuckles and misdemeanors for the hit run. Original reports said it was felony hit and run.
No in coming suspension.

Josh Gordon not charged with anything illegal.

If only Gordon can get his weed man to make a good case like Ray Rice’s wife

Multiple offender, not unlike Justin Blackmon, and more importantly he plays for Cleveland, despite Johnny Football and Lebron I don’t think the NFL really cares or wants the Browns to advance a great deal.

That being said, I do wish they would have went lighter on him, especially since we all know Irsay is going to skate despite embarrassing the NFL as a owner multiple times on Twitter alone let alone the DWI arrest.

If the penalty for an infraction has been collectively bargained, my understanding is there is very little leeway the league has regarding discipline; the person is either guilty or not, and the consequences are in black and white, agreed to by players and the league. That was Gordon’s problem; if he could not show innocence, he was pretty much locked into a year-long ban, unless he and the league could settle. It’s not fair to blame the league for not settling with Gordon, and is it possible that it was Gordon who did not want to settle, or would not set a realistic midway point. Unlike with substance abuse, domestic violence or other behavior problems away from the field are not included in the collective bargaining agreement, and therefore it is totally up to the teams and league how to discipline. That isn’t to say the league made the right call with Rice, I don’t think they did, but they weren’t locked into a punishment like they were with Gordon. I am sure the NFL would have rather Rice and his wife get stoned in their casino room rather than having Wrestlemania in the elevator, but what are you going to do? Gordon has been suspended multiple times in college and the pros for substance abuse issues; someone who loves that guy needs to do something, because he is flushing his future down the toilet. NFL can’t help him if he won’t help himself.

That’s the problem, it’s “technically correct”.

I can and do blame the league and players union for unjust punishments for non-violent crimes and relatively small to no punishment for violent crimes. Just because it’s technically correct.

Adam Schefter just posted on Twitter that the NFL has a new domestic violence policy; six games for a first offense, and a lifetime ban for a second.

Unless you are an owner.
