So… they let Bradshaw go, who’s only 27… to clear salary cap space for David “Will Fumble” Wilson… only to turn around work out 31 year old Jacobs, and 32 year old McGahee? I hope Giants front office is sending Bradshaw a gift basket with a “we fucked up, can’t wait to see you back in a Giants jersey next season” card.
To be honest, Bradshaw wasn’t exactly known for securing the ball either. But the way Wilson carries the ball is just atrocious.

I can see healthy, running RG3 getting 10 wins. That’s about it. If he can’t run, they’re an 8-8 team with some of those wins coming via Kirk Cousins. He’s not developed enough as an NFL pocket passer yet. Kap can win a game passing from the pocket, and just did against GB. Russel Wilson can win a game passing from the pocket. I think RG3 will eventually, but he hasn’t shown he’s ready yet.
Giants already calling up retired/washed up RBs to replace Wilson. This is more than just fumbles. This tells me that he doesn’t WANT to work hard on pass blocking, and this is the next step in the Giants sending the message “either you man the fuck up and pass block properly, or you’re not going to see the field outside of punt returns.” The fumbles are a separate issue, I believe they’ll get that fixed with him, because nobody likes fumbling. He’ll work hard on that. I’m not convinced he’ll give an earnest effort into improving his pass blocking. He screwed up more than a couple pass plays last night by just not doing his job, and I’m not sure if he doesn’t understand the schemes, or he’s just bitchmade and doesn’t want to get popped in the mouth. All this talent isn’t going to help David Wilson in today’s NFL if he doesn’t become a better pass blocker.
In any case, most of these turnovers were self inflicted. The first was just a really athletic play by Ware, the one bad pass by Eli, and the other 4 were just dumb rookies doing dumb rookie shit. And yes David Wilson, if you can’t pass block in year 2, I still consider you a rookie. Actually pretty happy with how wide open Nicks and Cruz were able to get on this supposed turnover machine that is the Dallas D, and the secondary didn’t really make things any worse after being their worst area of need from last year. Still think 8-8 is their absolute max ceiling, the O-Line will show it’s age late in the season and I honestly believe that David Wilson doesn’t have what it takes to be an NFL running back. He needs to show that he WANTS to throw a hard block on someone, otherwise he’s not the answer. And when I look at that game last night, if he’s gonna be an every down back, the pass rush is gonna key in on him every time. Some of these fast, athletic backs just never pan out because they can’t man the fuck up and throw a hard block in the passing game.
Still better than the Steelers. Went out to watch the first batch of games with my family, never heard my mom swear that much and that loud at the Steelers game.
referee bullshit aside, that game was close, if we had Casey hayward…well not even, shit if we had m.d. jennings out there, shit would have been different. first off i dont even know why we were playing so much zone, there was so much mis communication and bad tecnique, boldin and davis was just having a field day in the middle of the field…that shit was embarrassing. and that eddie lacy fumble killed us. but even after all of that shit, we STILL had a chance to win the game with 5 minutes left, our offense could not move the ball. we need to get more clutch in the 4th quarter. I think we kind of miss greg jennings right about now.
the problem is that he worked better in a tandem with bradshaw because bradshaw was big enough to pass protect also
wilson is fast but hes not a big beefy guy (by nfl standards)
you need a mcghee as old as he is because hes a grind out type of back then switch in wilson when you can draw up a play that will create a seam… hes got the speed to separate

I think they were trying to compensate for Kaep’s scrambling ability and gave no respect to his savvy in the pocket, thus you get Boldin and Davis doing cartwheels all over the field. They truly have no answer for him, imo.

Right now the only thing saving the Redskins D is Vick’s inaccuracy. If he gets more accurate it’s going to be a LONG night for them.
