Vernon Davis wasn’t no ordinary TE at Maryland. Most of you probably never or hardly saw him play in college. That ninja was a beast and a half. I think he had a career game against Duke one of his years. I dislike Duke but even I felt bad for them.

The man has had 5 or more offensive coordinators, the 49ers have no offensive identity, they don’t know what EXACTLY they want to do, they realize they have potential and the potential to be something great BUT they do not know how to put it all together and make it work.
Last night 49ers fans were crying for David Carr…the QB who got sacked 80 times in a season, 73 the year before that so forth and so on, basically an even worse QB.
The man holds the ball too long, Alex Smith was making ish happen with his limited mobility and limited time allowed int he pocket!!
It wasn’t Alex Smith fault the niners o-line is soft, young and in-experienced, its not his fault they were getting beat by 2nd and 3rd string linemen, people forget trent cole and 2 starting linebackers and a DT for the eagles all went out with injuries in the second half, the coaches were not making the right adjustments, the niners were out coached last night, not really our played, they were just telling Alex Smith"Make something happen" for most of the 2nd half the niners abandoned the run, they went 2 drives where they threw the ball on all 3 downs, that played right into the hands of the Eagels who blitz the niners almost 65% of last nights game.
Alex was sent on 3 and 5 step drops BUT by the time he got to the third step there was a defender coming around his blindside, or in front of him, or in his perif-vision.
The niners chose bad offensive calls UP UNTIL Alex couldn’t get calls from the sideline during there first no huddle, when he was making his own calls, did you not notice the three quick slants he called that beat the safety blitz, or the tight end streak that beat the linebacker and had davis one on one with the FS.
Did you all not see him scramble to salvage the man-to-man cover he saw, got the ball to crabtree TWICE ont hat drive while rolling out and away from the blitz
Posting saying he doesn’t read defenses isn’t entirely true because when they needed Alex Smith to step up last night…he actually did, so what it wasn’t a Steve Young or Joe Montana style comeback, get your head out your ass, the niners will never have that again, that was the 80’s & 90’s it was his o-line and coaching staff that did not step it up.

The spread offense was a nice idea when mike martz was there, i understand money and the front office being bitches 86’ed that idea but I honestly think a legit 4 wr set would have worked if the o-line could have been beefed up a bit.
Takeo Spikes wanting to leave shouldn’t upset a niners fan…he is a fucking bust, bad right leg, he couldn’t even beat out the rookies for a spot on our linebacker core so why would you cry about him wanting out (Eagles), its there secondary thats still suspect and forces the Linebacking core to make alot of the plays.

Alright ill defend the 49ers here , they have to play Smith , They have crap at QB and Carr would make Smith look like Manning which is why singletary wont play hi, , id give them shit about not drafting a QB with one of the first rounders but there wasnt a good option even there . BUT Mcnabb was available , There are lots of teams with better backups that Smith they could of sought out, hell I bet the Steelers might of let go of Big Ben for both 1st rounders, and to make it worse they pick up Carr WTF from FA .

Granted the O Line was not good but Alex Smith has just not played well. He has weapons to use and is just not competent in using it. What SF fans should really be mad at is they could have had Aaron Rodgers.
