Vikings had something going, but a combination of bad field positioning (which was all Miami special teams), Favre throwing them out of the game (though he was close to getting them back in the game) hurt them. I still think the Vikings definitely have a shot to contend for the title (though its not as big as last year). Miami ran all over them in the 1st half, but were silent (and coughed up some fumbles) in the second half, also, I think Chris Cook and Cedric Griffin will likely be coming back next week (especially since they weren’t playing this week), so the defense should be good. Offensively, other than Peterson and Shiancoe, its been a mess. Berrian at this point won’t be doing much, other than 1 or 2 catches (plus a few more dropped passes), Harvin might be shaken up, the offensive line has been giving up too much penetration, and Favre has gone back to his old (expected) self, no longer with youth on his side. Penalties have also hurt the Vikings, as well.

As long as they can stay in games (and with that defense, they definitely can), they will definitely do decent, but unless the offensive line can stay consistent, Harvin stay healthy, and Rice can come back (it is 8 weeks, but I read it might be 6 or 7), then at best, the Vikings will make the wild card round. Next week against Dallas (another 0-2 team) will see if either of these teams can make the playoffs, although both have the talent to definitely do so.

I know it’s only been 2 weeks, but Packers look to be the class of the NFC (offensively and defensively), AFC looks up in the air.
