I knew it.

Well, suddenly, management in Denver has gotten pretty bad…so we seem to be headed that way completely. I’ve said before, it seems like Mr. Bowlen has just fallen asleep at the wheel since he Tony Montana’d Mike Shanahan. See below…

I completely forgot about that Matrix…Josh “The Genius” McDaniels traded our 2010 round one pick for Seattle’s second round pick and drafted a cornerback no one had really heard of. Because heaven knows we were going to be picking in the upper 20s this next year…going to light myself on fire now. Good day.

They have the best pair of pass-rushing ends in Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis.

They have the best safety tandem in Bob Sanders and Antoine Bethea.

The corner tandem in Kelvin Hayden and Marlin Jackson are among the best.

The Colts defense has talent and the numbers back it up. They also back up their weakness which is run defense. The linebackers are smallish but okay. The defensive tackles aren’t very good. This team is basically a solid DT away from becoming an elite defense. Of course that’s been the case for the past couple of seasons.

Cool-Breeze THANK YOU!!! I thought I was not the only one that noticed that Sanders played in less & less games but like I said in an earlier post he will play vs.the suck teams.BTW matrix9280,yeah the Colts D was pretty good giving up points through the Dungy times when he was calling the defense, but how can you explain these stats vs.the run?:

I think you’re going a little nuts there. They’ve got plenty of tools, though.

Their linebackers are on the smallish side. Gary Brackett and Clint Session weigh 235 pounds. Their best linebacker, Freddy Keiaho is only 226 pounds. At the point of attack their going to get worn down by the better running backs because they’re not as big. It would help if the defensive tackles were any good at slowing backs down and keeping lineman off the smaliish receivers. Keyunta Dawson and Eric Foster are scrubs.

Hopefully bringing back Ed Johnson and having 2nd round pick Fili Moala pan out will be what it takes to put the Colts defense back in the top half of run defense. That combined with their elite pass defense will make them one of the best defenses in the NFL.

Man I’m watching ESPN2 right now with Chris Carter talking about the Favre signing, and he is freaking out. He seems really pissed about it, almost yelling at the guy he’s talking with. He’s right, though, the Vikings and Favre straight up lied to everybody, I mean obviously they didn’t just decide this morning to give him $10-12 million.

You think these guys are better than Osi/Tuck? There is no point in even debating this. You’re on some HEAVY drugs if you really think the COLTS have the best pass rushing ends in the NFL. Their defense is ok, but they were always known for offense. Compared to other teams, it’s just “ok”.

Osi Umenyiora played in how many games last season? He suffered a severe knee injury. It remains to be seen if he still has his speed. If he does then I will consider the Giants tandem as the best in the NFL. Until then Freeney and Mathis rule.

And I know I’m not the only one who said that.

This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:

Welcome back Favre. You just guaranteed the Eagles an automatic win if they face the Vikings in the playoffs. You fucking scrub.

Dear Brett Favre:

Thanks for un-retiring again. Now I can practice in peace. You can have that media shitstorm.

Signed,
Michael Vick

I would take Demarcus Ware by himself over Freeny and Mathis together. Best rushers will be osi, tuck, and Kiwanuka. I heard on espn the giants are creating a new rushing position maybe this will be a breakthrough to look for.

I do however agree with you Matrix that the Colts defense can be excellent it just has its stretches where it doesn’t want to play usually when Bob Sanders is absent so I see that as a flaw.

I’m not really happy that Favre is here. I don’t think the Vikings need the distraction. Sage looked OK in the last preseason, and rest of the team is solid.

The contract has been on the table for months according to reports. The players had written Favre off and were focused. My guess is that Favre watched a couple games on TV, cried, threw a tantrum in his house, cried some more, then called up Childress and said he was coming.

My god you should hear the guys on KFAN this morning, they’re gonna need a gallon of bleach to clean the spooge off the studio.

Bring on Favre! He can help the Vikings collapse down the stretch.

And people laughed when I picked Favre in the fantasy league. Yessssss.

imo.

Favre just wanted a free pass to skip training camp and he got it. That’s some fucked up shit right there. Now if he immediately gets the starting job then well…:looney:.

As much as I can beleive it, I just don’t think that’s it. Childress called the papers himself, Favre had the press conference… I really think he just changed his mind, again.

On the bright side, I’m sure he’ll completely solidify his record as the most intercepted QB ever.

Another thing to note is that the Vikes have been desperate for a new stadium for years. If Favre plays like shit and we don’t make the playoffs, Childress is done, the Vikes’ stadium chances - which are already in the toilet - will be flushed. This is make it or break it for the Vikings in Minnesota.

I hope favre destroys the packs. I dont care bout either team but I always love to see packers fans cry.

Their pass defense has been top-tier & that will never change.Sanders just need to grow some nuts & just play in the games he’s supposed to play in

From the Espn.com boards, I lol’d:

And yea so it was…Farve stretched his mighty arm (with a slight tear in the rotator cuff) across the land and spoke thusly, “Fear not my children, for I have returned. Thou shalt rejoice at my coming, for I have returned to smite the Packers, and free the people of Wisconsin from the tyranny of Ted Thompson. Look upon me, and know that I am he who you seek. I am timeless, ageless, flawless. I shall lead you out through the tundra, into the promised land of the postseason. Know that none may get to the Lombardi, except through me.”

Really, does anyone even care anymore? I still maintain that Vick would have been a better option for the Vikings. Peterson/Vick/Harvin? And you could have had that for 3 or 4 years. Instead you’ve got Farve for 1 year, assuming he doesn’t get hurt. And assuming that he doesn’t retire after the 2nd Packer game (boy I’d love to be in the stands for that one!) I guess this gives you the chance to win now. However, with the exception of an upgrade at running back, and an indoor stadium, I don’t see the Vikings being much of an upgrade over the 2008-2009 Jets. Stout defense, good running back (Thomas Jones), just needs a QB to get them over the hump. Farve couldn’t get it done in N.Y., what makes the Vikings think he can get it done here?
