The team put themselves in a bad position, but at the same time, Favre forced a play that wasn’t there, injury/penalty/etc or not. I understand how you’re feeling right now (trust me, I really do), but to absolve Favre of the majority of the responsibility for the sequence of events in the last 60 seconds of regulation is just fanboyism; Favre had a chance to give Longwell (career 57y FG) a chance at a 45-50 yarder if he just tucked the ball and scrambled upfield. Even if he only picks up 2 yards, that gets Longwell inside of 50y. Instead, he reverts back to his instincts and forced the ball to his receiver.

I think the Vikings are a really good team, and they all just happened to play collectively shitty tonight… Favre among the biggest offenders.

2 of those TDs were basically goal line TDs that any back could’ve taken in; I think they wanted Peterson to get those to build some confidence after fumbling so much. I’m not super familiar with Minnesota football, but wasn’t Chester Taylor a pretty decent back before AP came into town?

I can’t really talk much about the refs. Besides the last PI call with the ball sailing over the WR’s head and being uncatchable, the other reviewed plays were too close to legitimately over turn, and that’s fine. Whatever.

People are blaming the fuck out of Favre. About how he was over rated, or how he ruined the game.

Getting to to the NFC champ game aside, he kept us in the game, period.

If he had as many carries as AP he could easily get 1200 yards a season. He is also a much better pass receiver out of the backfield.

Killed their momentum? After one of those fumble the scored a fucking TD. How does a touchdown killed their momentum? He also saved their ass with 10+ runs on 2nd and 10 twice. (The other one being the 27 yard.)

Did people actually watch the game or they just listen to Troy Aikman?

Doesn’t matter if those were recovered. Could’ve easily gone the other way. That 8 yard line fumble was the clincher. Point is, he shouldn’t be fumbling in the first place. AP has had stone hands now for a while and it disturbs me. He’s too much of a gamble. When he’s on his game, he’s great. When he’s not, he’s a bane to the Vikes. Oh, and I’m not discounting Harvin and whoever else fumbled (I missed it) but I know there was 5 damn fumbles and with that many, they didn’t deserve to even be neck and neck with NO.

Truth be told Favre had ALOT riding on this game. This is the guy that came out of retirement twice to try and get to the Super Bowl and is 0-2 now. Truth be told he should save face and just retire.

Yeah, he had a chance to just run forward and get yards, but he shouldn’t even of had to get those yards. They should of not had drawn a ridiculous penalty. AP should be trusted to run the ball that late, and get a handful of yards for a couple carries. Favre kept them in the game for the duration of the game, when things looked like it was over.

Seeing how we’ve played the last two games, and severely limiting some amazing offenses to not much, I would of had a lot of hope of us going up against the Colts. So, yah it’s a bummer.

Still, I don’t think I’m going to be as bummed that we lost, as that it’s a long time until more football is played.
